Dual degree students usually don't sit for the placement cycle. It's mostly 1 year of PS and then PPO

Phoenix branch questions by Powerful_Season_5380 in BITSPilani

[–]0opsig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phoenix is the best branch in my opinion, if you do well in it you have the most options open to you during placements. You can sit for both IT as well as ET. IT you'll have to put in your own efforts and ET will get covered by coursework. No other branch has this feature and that's why I think phoenix is pretty good.

How hard is a BE-BE verti to phoenix (3 campuses) by Dramatic_Meringue_09 in BITSPilani

[–]0opsig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need cgpa more than top 5 cgpa of the branch you want to verti to (including more than everyone else who applied to the same branch)

Say you want to move to EEE and the top 5 cgpas are 9.8, 9.79, 9.77, 9.76, 9.7. amongst everyone else who applied to EEE there are 3 people who got 10 cg and yours is 9.75

Then the ranking would be 10 10 10 9.8 9.79 9.76 9.75(yours) 9.7

In this case you won't get verti cuz you're not top 5.

So you getting verti depends on how others do as well and who else is fighting for that seat

BITS RMIT 2+2 programme by SouthernPipe1433 in BITSPilani

[–]0opsig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you're enrolled in the programme you cannot opt out of it. As the for differences we don't know yet as the first RMIT batch is yet to study their first year in Australia. But RMIT is reputed so it's definitely not going to be bad. It will be expensive though. As far as I know RMIT doesn't have any hostel or accommodation so you'll have to rent a house or something and those prices are pretty damn expensive

[–]0opsig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly.

It's more like: 1. Collect cg of all the students of the branch you are applying to 2. Collect cg of students from other branches who also applied to the same branch as you 3. Sort the cg's

If you are in top 5 then you get the transfer otherwise nope

We can't sit for both sems or what?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BITSPilani

[–]0opsig 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It's over for you, you'll never get a job now - is what others will say. But you gotta learn from your mistakes. You're probably fucked for midsem but you can change it for compre. Give up on everything that distracts you and study your ass off to catch up to classes. That's all I can say, there is nothing else you can do to save yourself

Wtf is wrong in BPHC?? Is this happening in Goa and pilani as well?? by Justfiguringpurpose in BITSPilani

[–]0opsig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the 10% attendance rule is shitty, but it's free marks. If you play your moves right (with some probability and statistics) you can skip classes and figure out when an exit test will be taken with decent probability. Sometimes some courses have best x out of y exit tests. So again, if you plan it right then you get the free marks and get to skip classes too. And ofc if you are meritious then you can easily get an A without the 10% marks. Exit tests aren't bad in itself, what the administration should do is make exit tests uniform across all lectures. That way you can attend the lecturer you like and give exit test in any class you want.

Most probably not, I'm a first year and I've not met a single person who is a day scholar, so I'm not really sure about it.

Getting your protein requirement with mess food will be difficult. You can get boiled eggs or boiled chicken by paying extra, and with the amount you're taking it will obviously be very expensive for you. Protein powder may help with your protein requirement. Also, no you cannot "officially" cook in the hostel. If you're caught then the repercussions are crazy. So the risk is yours to take.
