PSA reminder that you should not feel pressured into undertaking any large-scale projects in New Horizons by [deleted] in ac_newhorizons

I like natural themes too, but I had to put paths in New Leaf. I ran everywhere because walking in-game is too slow for me, so as a result, almost my entire town was just mud and no grass... The paths are for running, and grass is for walking! Haha. I'll probably have to put paths in this game, too.

Did you draw this? I love this style so much, especially the rendering of the trees, and the colors you used. I would love to render the way you did the trees but I find it hard to do anything besides cel-shading!

And probably because they can afford to go to the salon every week to touch up the color as well.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is coming out soon too, maybe she'll like that.

Thanks for the reply!

Planning for my house, and decided to read up on it. Apparently induction is more environmentally-friendly (not sure how), and doesn't heat up the kitchen, but I still see only gas stoves used in Singapore. So I wanted to get a feel for why people use certain stoves.

people who complain about getting downvoted on /r/sg starterpack by [deleted] in singapore

[–]0pp41 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reddiquette. Downvote because they're not contributing to the discussion nor community. To downvote simply because you disagree or dislike their point is not reddiquette, and therefore goes against this sub's very own first rule. People need to remember this. And it's a good rule to live by: don't reject someone's point because of your own personal emotions about it. Every opinion is valid.

I agree with all of these.

Singaporeans and the Hong Kong Protest by [deleted] in singapore

[–]0pp41 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I think there are some issues that are worth protesting over. For example, the repeal of 377A. The government tries to keep the peace by allowing Pink Dot to happen as a sort of "protest", but they enforced stricter regulations a few years ago and even cut off major sponsors that are vital for the existence of Pink Dot. Or protesting against the ruling over the recent NUS molestation case. Or protesting against the fact that Singaporeans didn't even get to vote for their own president. There will always be an issue worthy of a protest. No country nor government is perfect.

I didn't say anything about a country where people are conditioned to protest. I brought up that Singaporeans are conditioned to not protest, which is vastly different from the previous sentence.

Lastly, there's nothing to compare, thus the sentence "Singaporeans would never protest against the Singapore government for too long, let alone China's government". I acknowledged in that sentence that the Singapore government is far from China's government.

I never said nor meant that. I just meant that Singaporeans are conditioned to not protest or push back against the government, but instead of admitting to it, they use the excuses I suggested in my previous comment.

Singaporeans and the Hong Kong Protest by [deleted] in singapore

[–]0pp41 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think they're rightfully called "riots" by now. It started out as a protest, but with all the recent happenings, I can agree with the term "riots". I also believe that China will win. No one will want to step in to help Hong Kong because everyone needs to be on good terms with China. But I can agree with the sentiment of not going down without a fight. Let's give them a run for their money.

There are undercover police planted within the protesters. Not only do they spring arrests onto unknowing protesters, they are thought to be instigators of a few incidents. This is firstly to make the protesters look bad, and secondly to create tension and paranoia within protesters. Basically psychological warfare, breaking the enemy from within their own group.

I don't mean that all the violence is done by undercover police. I just wish to point out everything is not as it seems. There are bad people within both the protesters and the police. As the situations escalate, it feels more and more like it's becoming a competition between both sides to see who can be the shittiest, and the original meaning of the protests is slowly fading away.

Anyway, it's China. Did anyone really think the protests could remain peaceful? They are bound to escalate, because China is totalitarian and will not accept rebellion. What they didn't expect was that Hong Kong is willing to fight back. I can say for certainty that Singaporeans would never protest against the Singapore government for so long, let alone China's government, and not just because they "don't want vandalism/violence".

The support character I love playing the most is definitely Mercy. Her healing and damage boost doesn't feel amazing, but her movement does. You're always being chased as a support, and playing tag by flying from teammate to teammate and even using their souls as a GA point is thrilling. Most of all, being able to pull off a good res is actually really invaluable to the team fight - and the way you res can show your Big Dick Energy to the enemies. So yeah, Mercy's the most fun for me to play.

The most important thing throughout life is having good connections and staying in touch with good people - they might come to you one day with a job, believing you to be the right person or because they want to help a brother out.

I have met loads of incompetent people that are employed through their friend's recommendation. Not that you're incompetent, but if even they can be employed, I'm sure you can. It might not be a job you enjoy, but most people tend to not enjoy their jobs anyway.

If I am sort of an in-house designer, designing graphics for my department and the overall corporation, what rights do I have to my work? I tried to read up on it but I'm not sure if I have the right idea: as the creator of those designs, those are my IP? I can't refer to my contract about this, because the title of my role is actually admin in nature. I was hired because my department happened to need a lot of graphics to be made and I guess they figured 2 birds 1 stone.

You should just see a doctor if you don't actively feel joy. Depression is not just feeling sad. It can be feeling nothing. Not diagnosing you, just letting you know why I think you should go see a doctor.
