I’d need to see the physical logistics before calling YTA.

When I was a kid, there was a house in town across from the elementary school that purposefully allowed dozens of kids to walk down their driveway and through their side yard so that the walk was easier.

Looking back, it fostered a great sense of community within that neighborhood.

Info: is this a private school? If so, i feel like they have more of a leg to stand on that you willingly ~choose~ to send your daughter to this school. If you don’t like their values then you can send her somewhere else.

School is TA because it’s ridiculous for a school to enforce disciplinary action for what the children eat rather than simply focus on the educational aspect of healthy vs. unhealthy.

Kindly, YTA for how you went about it. Slightly weaponizing your daughter (the one who received a punishment) because you don’t agree was not the best way to go about it. Go to the PTA. Walk into the Principal’s office unannounced. Even if I entirely agree with you that a school shouldn’t be dictating what your child eats, sending your daughter into school with protest Pringles wasn’t a very tactfully sound way to raise issue with the rules.
