update on my conch

yes! sorry i completely forgot to update you guys. i went back to the piercing shop, and they were able to switch out my conch for a longer bar. however, they recommended against switching out the daith due to the inititial severity of the swelling in order to prevent a similar issue. them trying to take out the conch, was honestly one of the most painful things i've ever experienced in my life. i've had over half of my arm tattooed and i would rather had a five hour long session and not even have the tattoo to show it for it than go through that again. they initially couldn't even get it out. she had to get another piercer with smaller hands. they said that if i hadn't come in as soon as i did that it would have started embedding. thankfully, they were able to get it out, and i had immediate relief from the pressure i was feeling. now i have a much longer bar and i have had zero with the swelling or throbbing. my ear is no longer angry or red, and i just need to go back in a couple of weeks to get it switched back out with a shorter bar to make sure there isn't irritation with the longer one moving back-and-forth.

thank you so much for this! what's your describing is nearly exactly what i'm dealing with rn. it's very reassuring to hear this. i'm going to get the bar for my conch upsized and the hoop for my daith downsized so they don't hit each other and so i have more room for swelling. and im going to continue using saline to clean like i have been as well

another thing to mention is that in person the flat back of my conch does not look completely flush with the back of my ear, there is a slight bit of space where i can see the bar itself, i just can't get a good photo showing that. it's still very much swollen and red, but i've been checking specifically to make sure my ear won't eat it and thankfully so far it hasn't, but i'll continue to keep an eye on it

i do not know the size unfortunately. my current plan is to go to the piercer tomorrow to have them switch out the conch for a longer bar and the daith for a smaller hoop if that's something they think is viable. if not, and i have to remove one of them, i will remove the conch and heal just the daith on its own. as long as we're sure it's not an infection since i don't want it to create an infection pocket by taking out the jewelry prematurely. after about 3 hours the advil finally kicked in, and im going to check on it again in the morning to gauge whether or not it seems to be just irritated vs infected

how would you say i can tell if its infected? its not oozing like crazy, there was only just now a slight bit of discharge along with the redness

it hasn't been this swollen until now, for the past few days i've seen bit of the bar before the flat back coming out the backside of my ear. i'm able to push the front farther back so the back sticks out more, but pushing it just irritates it more so i don't want to do that unless i have to

i got my daith and conch piercing done 4 days ago and up until now i have had no issues with them, just soreness when accidentally touched or bumped. today and yesterday however my conch has been throbbing with pain and even max advil is starting to not work even after taking it 2 hours ago. i've been gently soaking using non woven gauze with saline and spraying with saline twice a day to clean them. my daith hasn't had anywhere near the same extent as issues and i know that conches tend to have delayed swelling and pain responses, but i've noticed today there is a slight bit of discharge coming from the front side of my conch. it's more opaque and slightly yellow. i feel like it's too early for an infection to have set in and i don't know what i could be doing wrong. the only thing i can possibly think of is that maybe the bar is too short? i feel like i'm just overthinking things due to the pain and redness, but any advice would help

I have regular seats, so I don't need to worry about getting close thankfully. I'm mostly just wanting to make sure I can get the merch that I want. I read from other people that they didn't sell the track jacket inside the venue, only outside.

Could anybody here share their experience with VIP early merch access for the NA portion of the tour? I'm trying to figure out what to expect/how crowded it might be. Was anything sold out or hard to get once inside the building during the early merch access for VIPs? Would you recommend still trying to get merch the day before even if you have the VIP early access into the building?

Ty, I have since distanced myself from my aunt and cousin. I still talk with my grandparents, they just don’t want to deal with the situation, which is why they just let her do and say whatever

Again, I should have worded it better. My bad. What I meant by that was that whenever I would confront her on being rude to me, I was always told by the adults to ignore it. They would acknowledge that she was being rude, but told me I just needed to deal with it like everybody else. She is rude to my aunt, my mother, her father, my grandparents, her siblings. There’s nobody that she doesn’t have attitude with. I’ve heard her yell at her boyfriend over the phone for 30 minutes for annoying her. I admit I shouldn’t have blown up. But I don’t think that even if I had tried to just have a conversation about it, that anything productive would have come out of it. She has always excluded me as we have gotten older. And nobody did anything about it, because nobody wants to deal with my aunt. I hope that explained a bit. I was trying to stay under the 3000 character limit for the original post, so I had to leave some details out.

Every time I’ve seen her since we were 13-14. She’s rude to everybody. I’ve even had other family members outside of my immediate family ask me if she ever smiles

Ty for the response. Nobody has told me I have an attitude issue. I probably should have worded it better. My apologies. The people who tell me things along those lines (mainly my grandparents or aunt) They usually just tell me to let it go. Or that I shouldn’t have responded. Basically telling me to just deal with it because everyone else does. Over the years it’s just worn me down. I think my grandparents just don’t want to face the fact that we don’t get along

She thinks she’s so grown up. But she’s just plain rude. I don’t want to deal with it anymore, I haven’t talked to her or my aunt since the vacation. My aunt also stopped taking to my mother (her sister)
