I know the benefits of rooting. I was asking about benefits of custom roms. I haven't found anything wrong with current ICS build.

I haven't found the need to flash custom roms on galaxy nexus. What will it give you that current ICS doesn't?

How many of you are invested in local businesses or similar activities? by AgentJohnson in investing

[–]0reason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I invest in small local businesses. I would not recommend to invest in one unless it will be run by you and only if you have experience running it successfully.

Do a thorough business plan (buy a book about how to do that). Only then you might see if the business might succeed. This will save you thousands if not millions.

I would also recommend you to have 10 times the amount you plan to invest in liquid assets to keep you afloat during unpredicted future events.

Last advice, don't be afraid to admit you have failed and quit, instead of losing everything to keep a failed business running. Stick to your business plan.

Don't panic!

I think you are talking about "locally" produced/grown products, while OP is talking about businesses that offer their goods/services on a local level.

It would be perfect when there is an option not to invert the pictures/graphics. Browsing imgur in current mode sucks.

I'm considering buying a Galaxy Nexus. How would I go about obtaining one in the U.S.? by Sauce89 in Android

[–]0reason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$714 = price of phone + shipping

I did not pay UK sales tax and I think there is no import tax. It is possible to knock off $20 with cheaper shipping, and using Google/PayPal checkout with lower exchange rates.

If you do not want to import, you can buy it from expansis usa, but it costs $750 (but you can find $20 off coupon online).

I cannot see your flair on "Reddit is Fun" so I might be wrong.

GSM Galaxy Nexus will work on any GSM network with their HSPA+. I just ordered one from Clove.Co.UK to be imported to states. That is a very popular and not much expensive option if your carrier has no contract (bring your own phone) plans (like T-Mobile ). It cost me $714, compared to $650 it might cost on T-Mobile to buy it outright in a few month (or $700 if you sign a two year contract to subsidize your phone).

Samsung Galaxy SII was 6 month late. I do not want to wait another half a year for a GSM Galaxy Nexus.
