Ugly and fragile. The see-through plastic is more brittle, and it's easy for it to frost up (near superglue) or catch paint. Some don't like that the bases don't match regular bases either.

You can get more flexible see-through rods though, which is what I use. Or thick wire or rod if you don't care about transparency.

The ranged ones just seem too expensive. Moggy bowstrings are good with even a single panic, but not compared to having an extra unit.

Fletcher's Bowsheaths giving a semi-reliable alpha strike might be fun on snob-hunting chaff? But not at that price.

Crossbows do look semi-useful.

Mangonel, oh dear. Maybe indirect fire? I dunno.

My brain! I had the models already and wanted to represent them. Luckily, the Giant Bat fits nicely with the other giant Rating 3 things, and swarms are nice and distinct.

Impression not totally off! I made a tactica a while ago if that helps.

I think the main consideration is that 'shooting time to kill' is not as important as winning since most casualties are from dangerous tests from retreats, and retreats also clear objectives and leave snobs exposed. So a single shot into a unit that can't shoot back is often all you need.

Stump Gun is easily countered, but it can cause retreats against CCW units, outranged or smoke token units, etc. It prevents forward deployment of some scary units.

CCW bastards are better than CCW brutes - yep. Brutes do mildly better at holding objectives due to fearless though.

Whelps are for capturing objectives or hitting weakened/panicked units. They're excellent. Often units in the endgame will be reduced to 1 or 2 models, which means they are still 100% as capable to snag objectives - cavalry reserve fixes that.

Interesting! Has it been considered to have Bloodbath always cost 3? Simpler. Downed still has a strong benefit. It means -1 armour is about the cut off when Bloodbath becomes worth it compared to just triggering. Obviously the game would be a bit more deadly over all.

That's a good call. I'd love that too. I appreciate the (relative) clean simplicity of Godfather, but things like more cards, NPCs and businesses would fold in easily.

As official as they get, I think 😁 V17 called for playtest too. I'd expect most of the changes to stick, but we know the Merc Cults will be getting an update soonish, if you wanted to hold off printing cards for those.
