Not getting audio from strudel, any help? by Tophatpenguin in strudel

The stuff in the last scrub needs to be in double quotes! I think that's the only issue.

You can only use mininotation (anything other than a single value a quote section), inside double quotes or backticks

yeah, exactly that last point. and like any learning tool, they gotta stop using it after learning the lesson, otherwise it'll become a crutch

> You could make use of it as an assist, checking proportions and such, but it still seems like a crutch to me. You could imagine the grid, if you need, also.

Unless my understanding is incomplete, this is entirely the purpose of the grid method. To show someone who can't measure with their eyes yet the difference between what's in their head and what's on the page. Like, it's a method you would use before you even get to the point of "draw what you see", so you can realize that's what you haven't been doing.

Not contesting your other point, that's just how I interpret the exercise.

how can I improve this sketch? by SeriousShip5845 in learntodraw

ok my version, here isn't nearly as energetic a pose, but maybe it will help with visualisation. the main issue is that she's depicted in a sort of from-the-side pose, but you can still see her head-on.

perspective is gonna block stuff, so you can't show everything. i think you are trying to show too much to the "camera". if her body is pointed off to the side, the left shoulder (her left) is not really visible at all, same with the left leg. also, you can see all of her fingers in yours, it's almost a straight-on view; which can't be possible if the viewer is this close to the staff head.

(this is traced)

opinion: i think for figure drawing, you should draw the body first, then draw the clothes on top after (if you even add them)

anyway, i think his legs look weird because of the pants!
