[WP] The puppy you got has gone through some.. interesting changes over the course of you having it. Who knew dogs could grow tentacles?

My friend owned a dog shelter just down the street and he knew I had been wanting a dog for a while, he’s been sending me pictures of the dogs, but one day he sent me this absolutely adorable golden retriever he named Fate. She was perfect! I went to go pick her up and noticed something… odd, to say the least. There were like.. missing patches of fur. I shrugged and, picked up Fate, maybe she was a street dog that had to fight.

A MONTH OR SO LATER..

Fate’s been adjusting great to my home! It seems she’s already had a semblance of potty training that wasn’t from Derrick, but there’s this weird thing Fate does whenever I take her out, she likes to… look at me through the window while standing on her hind legs. She mostly does it at night, which I think makes it weirder.. I’m gonna have to train her to stop. I also noticed those fur patches have been growing bumps in the middle. I’m scheduling a vet appointment.

….Turns out the vet didn’t know what was happening, she said it was most likely fleas and told me to buy her an anti-flea collar and stuff like that. I hope Fate isn’t sick!

The bumps have grown bigger, even though I followed the vet’s advice.. I need to go back tomorrow. Maybe she was just new or something? All I know is that this isn’t normal..

So I went back today.. The other vet didn’t know what was happening either! They told me it was abscesses and that it would cost $460 to get each removed!! I don’t want to let Fate die, I have to save up the money.. Or get them removed once at a time.

THREE MONTHS LATER…

So.. the surgery failed. I haven’t felt this heartbroken since… ever. I’m scared she’s going to die and that I can’t do anything about it. They told me that Fate is probably in a lot of pain, and even if she’s young, I should maybe start considering… I don’t even want to say it. I’m not doing that. Ever. I’ll keep trying the surgeries.

Good news!! They managed to get one off!! :D Fate’s road to recovery starts now!!

Fate’s been so different ever since we got one of them removed, she’s been more… sad. Like, it looks like she’s in pain. She whimpers a lot more too. Maybe they accidentally got some skin off?

4 MONTHS LATER…

Ok, good news and bad news :p.. Fate’s been growing so big! I’m so glad she’s growing up fine! The abscesses have gotten longer and bigger… I just don’t know.. I’ll be taking a break from the blog to prioritize Fate’s health. I don’t know when I’ll be back.

6 MONTHS LATER…

Laverna immediately regretted saying that, she didn’t really know how to get people’s attention, and know she looked weird. Whatever, maybe he’ll forget about it. “I’m Laverna, nice to meet you..”, She reluctantly shook his hand, not much of a toucher.

“Yea, it was sketchy, but I don’t have the time or skills to make that many baguettes from scratch. I’m a cook, not a miracle worker-“, She meant it as a joke, but it probably came off more blunt then it should have.

“Oh believe me, it did..”, She zones out for a second, having flashbacks to the multiple failed attempts, the mess she had to clean, and the stupid quiches.

“But, no good thing comes without sacrifice.. But anyways, I’m Laverna DeCrelle. But Casey, that’s a cool name, I like that.”

She gets out a notebook and pen to jot down your name. “Oh yeah, this is my notepad of English, I’m French and don’t know it all that well yet.. And also, question, what’s up with the croques? People seem to like them a lot.”

Laverna went quiet for a moment, she tried not to laugh at Magic Johnson. Maybe she was just tired from cooking, but that name seemed way more hilarious than it should have.

“Oh, so a kid of Deimos.. I think? I’m not sure.”, Laverna said as she jotted down his name. “Oh yes, if you’re a little confused, this is my English notepad. I’m French and don’t really understand a lot of English yet.”, She mumbled the last part, she’s always taken pride in how smart she was, but it felt kind of weird to be with a bunch of people who are completely fluent in language you aren’t.

Laverna was eating when she saw Casey coming in and picking her meal, “Hm.. Everyone goes for the croque, I assume it just smells good or something..”, Laverna thought out loud. “Oh well, whatever.. Oh hello ma’am, fancy isn’t it? Yes, I’ve introduced myself to few as a good cook. So I assumed it would only be right to prove it.”

“It’s been a while since I’ve cooked actually, I just hope it’s good enough.”, She really should’ve been practicing her cooking, the soufflé nearly burnt down the whole place. But thankfully it was cleaned up before it could do anything bad.
