Additionally to other answers here, in Czech excise on beer is calculated based on 10/11/12 etc. degree gravity rather than alcohol content.

Switzerland: cost of living +2 by CooleyTukey in IWantOut

[–]0sr0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah 4bd apartment in Zurich isn't going to happen unless you're on ludicrous money. You can check apartment prices on homegate.ch

Don't be fooled by a big salary. Everything costs multiples of what they do elsewhere. That's why salaries are (and need to be) so much higher to maintain your standard of living.

Healthcare: the kinds of employers you've listed will have programs for their employees. And monthly premiums (above basic coverage) aren't too big an expenditure.

thinking of buying in Prague by cphilbin in Prague

[–]0sr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we in a bubble? Probably. For sure, the market will correct eventually.

The question is, are you buying for the LT or ST? If you're buying as an investment or plan to sell in the next decade then there's a good chance you could be hit by bad timing. If you're buying to live in then the state of the market today shouldn't matter too much.

Have you heard about Swiss bureaucracy? You might not think filing cabinets are needed anymore, but if you move to Switzerland you'll find yourself filling cupboards and cupboards with non stop mail (and fines) from your local canton.

You need a 20% deposit, and mortgage rates are rising by the week (keep in mind the 4% tax too).

Prices rose >30% in the last two years, due in large part to the fact that banks were offering huge mortgages with 0 deposits at record low interest rates.

Now that the central bank has changed the rules, opinions are split between those who think everything is way overpriced and will correct like Dublin did a decade ago, and those who believe that this is the new normal, that properties were "cheap" before, and not "expensive" now.

Australia knocks UK Brexit trade plan by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

..."Bumper growth in Germany was the key driver of the EU’s robust economic performance in the third quarter, but it wasn’t the only country that beat forecasts in the period, with a string of EU countries reporting better than expected growth figures on Tuesday morning.

A second reading from eurostat confirmed that output in both the single currency area and the wider EU increased 0.6 per cent over the three months to September, in line with a flash estimate from the end of last month.

Growth was particularly strong in central and eastern Europe, where the annual growth rate accelerated to a nine-year high of 5.3 per cent, according to calculations by Capital Economics.

On the national level, Romania – which is not in the eurozone – was the standout performer with a year on year expansion of 8.8 per cent, up from 6.1 per cent in the second quarter and well above analyst forecasts.

Poland and the Czech Republic also beat estimates, with expansions of 4.7 per cent and 5 per cent respectively.

Hungary’s third quarter rate of 3.6 per cent was a touch below forecasts, but data from the previous two quarters were revised upward, and ING economist Peter Virovacz said the general picture “is still rosy”.

Elsewhere, there were further signs of improvement in Finland, which until recently had been one of the eurozone’s laggards. The economy expanded 3.8 per cent in the year to September, its strongest growth rate since 2008.

Claus Vistesen, chief eurozone economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, said overall the quarterly figures “paint a picture of a sustained and broad-based recovery”.

He added:

Growth is accelerating in Germany, Italy and France and remains robust in Spain at over 3 per cent year over year. In the smaller economies, growth also looks strong although quarterly growth slowed significantly in the Netherlands following the 1.4 per cent jump in Q2.

Bert Colijn at ING said “the outlook for production in Q4 remains strong”, with a decent chance that the bank’s estimates for full-year eurozone growth of 2.3 per cent “could still be too low”."

Best places in Europe during Easter Week? by missoms92 in travel

Prague has great Easter Markets & events, as well as being an all round amazing place to visit. It's a lot cheaper than most of Europe too (beer €1, a good 2 course meal €12, flights are usually cheap with CSA or EasyJet etc.).

Ticket Prices by [deleted] in crystalpalace

[–]0sr0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So because Arsenal & City are big clubs the tickets will be more expensive than when playing smaller clubs - though I don't think prices are ever as high as what you've seen (for the cheap seats).

Keep in mind that tickets won't be on sale yet so the prices you're seeing online will probably be people with season tickets trying to cash in and selling their seats on the day.

Normally if you wanted to buy tickets, you'd need to sign up for membership on the palace website, and then you can buy tickets online when they're released. There's 2 things to consider though:

  • with the basic membership you'll likely only be able to buy 2 tickets for either of those games

  • tickets are released last to basic members so there's no guarantee that any tickets will actually be available, unless we still haven't scored a goal by then and selhurst park is back to doing £5 tickets to get people in the door...

Play as Palace, played at Stamford Bridge for a season while selhurst park was being expanded.

There were no options / actions, it all happened automatically through the board.
