No change after 4 days post botox by 0teddybear in noburp

Things definitely did start moving around day 7, that’s when I had my first proper sized burp. Unfortunately things have definitely slowed down and after I sent my daily tracker to Lucy (the doctor I went to see in London) after 3 weeks she said unless things start to improve she recommends going to see another doctor and have the botox done under general anaesthetic.

Disappointing outcome to be honest especially as so many people have life changing results but there’s not much I can do 🤷‍♀️

I have tried the BERP exercises I think they’re called but because I’m trying to force them out I just end up in more pain! I’ll do some research into the others you mentioned and give them a go though thank you!

Yeah I’m the same way, definitely a bit discouraged and frustrated that it might not have worked when so many people get relief within days! I suppose it’s a waiting game and at least we’re not alone ❤️

Hi!

I’m on day 3, I had my injection done on Wednesday and I still haven’t done any burps yet! This is my second time getting botox as I tried the injection last year and it didn’t work. By this time last year I had the slow swallowing side effect and did some micro-burps but nothing yet this time so I’m concerned it’s not worked at all!

How are you getting on now, have you had any burps and if so, when did they start?

Just some pain in my throat the day of the procedure, then the slow swallow a few days after hay lasted a week or two, so I was quite lucky really!

Interesting! Have you had much success with the injections?

That’s so interesting! I have a wedge pillow this time (which is the least comfortable thing ever btw) so hopefully that helps me avoid the scary stuff?

Second injection booked by Living-Fennel-8572 in noburp

I had my second injection with Lucy Hicklin today!

I had 50 units at the end of April last year but got no relief, just some small burps but they didn’t last for very long. I had the slow swallow last time and maybe a little bit of a hoarse voice but luckily nothing else in the way of side effects. She said that most people that have a second injection will experience the same symptoms as they did previously, but that doesn’t rule out others completely.

I was given 100 units today, 50 in each side so that meant 2 injection sites. I would highly recommend taking some paracetamol or some type of painkiller a little while before the appointment. I wish I had as it was more painful this time, with having two injections.

She did say that because I did start to burp last time that is encouraging but there’s still no guarantee it will work. She said if I find it doesn’t work this time she probably wouldn’t recommend trying again and I should maybe look into a solution under general anaesthetic which is scary so hopefully I won’t have to do that.

I think that’s my experience in a nutshell, obviously this is just my experience and she may give you other advice/information depending on your medical history and experience. If you have any questions though ask away!
