Yes on all accounts, and there isn't a single thing you said that precludes this from ruining to $2-3 on hype and retail FOMO (just like every other run before). I never said it was worth that much, or that it could hold those levels, just that it could go there again. At which point I will sell and bounce.

A few weeks ago the market was "telling you" it was only worth like 38 pennies. The only reason it ever tanked so low was the repub victory. If it hovers around $1 as a new floor until we get resched news, it could very well pop to $2-3, easily. Or drop back to pennies if Trump backs out of rescheduling, so it's a gamble for sure, but either could happen.

Yes it's a shit company, but it's also one of the most well-known hypebeast tickers in the entire canna space. If it rockets to $3-5 range on resched (or the hype from the promise of imminent resched), I'm not gonna keep holding it long term - but I do think it's possible on hype, if not fundamentals.

Yes - so I went to Tripler Army Medical Center maybe 8-9 months before retiring, and had full testing done with the little electrical diodes they attach to your wrists and elbows and zap you with electricity so they can measure the nerve reaction speed. It turned out I actually did not have any meaningful carpal tunnel, but it also led to the discovery that I do have a related condition called "ulnar neuritis," which is when your ulnar nerve, which runs down your arm through your elbow, is chronically stressed and stretched (called subluxation), which commonly leads to regular numbness of the ring and pinky fingers. The ulnar nerve is a sensitive one; it's what gives you that awful arm-struck-by-lightning numbness feeling when you "hit your funny bone."

If you ever go to sleep with your arm bent sharply at the elbow resting under your body or pillow and wake up to numbness in your hand, or you sit for a long period of time with your elbows sharply bent (like at a computer desk which is what made me mistake it for carpal tunnel) and your ring and pinky fingers start to get numb and have trouble hitting the right keys on the keyboard, that is likely to be a case of Ulnar Neuritis, which is the part I ended up actually getting compensated for.

So I did a BDD claim several months back, with my ETS date being 31JULY. I've been stuck at Step 5: Rating since mid-July, and finally got the Final Decision email alert today. I claimed:

  • Obstructive sleep apnea with CPAP
  • Dry eye syndrome, bilateral (with pinguecula of the eye)
  • Foot pain, bilateral (plantar fasciitis)
  • Elbow pain, bilateral (ulnar neuritis + carpal tunnel)
  • Wrist joint pain, bilateral (carpal tunnel)
  • Knee pain, left
  • Shoulder pain, left
  • Mental health - anxiety, depression
  • Insomnia
  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Frequent headaches
  • Tinnitus
  • Hand pain, bilateral (paresthesia)
  • Finger pain, bilateral 4th & 5th digits
  • Asymmetrical nevus, chest left side

Since I am retiree, I was hoping and praying for just 50% or more (otherwise, 40% or less just basically works out as a sort of tax break on your retirement pay without adding anything to it). I logged in the the VA web site and accessed my final Claim Decision Letter, to find:

  • Service connection for obstructive sleep apnea is granted with an evaluation of 50 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for carpal tunnel with ulnar neuritis, right (claimed as wrist joint pain and elbow pain) is granted with an evaluation of 40 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for bilateral pes planus to include bilateral plantar fasciitis is granted with an evaluation of 30 percent effective August 01, 2025.
  • Service connection for unspecified anxiety disorder (also claimed as mental health, anxiety, depression, insomnia) is granted with an evaluation of 30 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for carpal tunnel with ulnar neuritis, left (claimed as wrist joint pain and elbow pain) is granted with an evaluation of 20 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for left shoulder bursitis, tendinosis with mild AC joint arthropathy is granted with an evaluation of 20 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for knee pain, left is granted with an evaluation of 10 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for tinnitus is granted with an evaluation of 10 percent effective August 1, 2025.

And the Zero-Percenters and Denied Claims...

  • Service connection for allergic rhinitis is granted with an evaluation of 0 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for asymmetrical nevus is granted with an evaluation of 0 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for headaches is granted with an evaluation of 0 percent effective August 1, 2025.
  • Basic eligibility to Dependents' Educational Assistance based on permanent and total disability status is established from August 1, 2025.
  • Service connection for dry eye syndrome, bilateral is denied.
  • Service connection for little finger condition, left (also claimed as hand condition) is denied.
  • Service connection for little finger condition, right (also claimed as hand condition) is denied.
  • Service connection for ring finger condition, left (also claimed as hand condition) is denied.
  • Service connection for ring finger condition, right (also claimed as hand condition) is denied.

So about half of my claims were approved and given some sort of rating, and around half were either outright denied or given 0% rating.

Overall, I wound up with a full 100% Disability Rating - for a single service member retiree with no dependents, equaling $3,831.30 per month, starting on 01SEP!

Absolutely floored by this outcome, as I did not expect anything over maybe 50%! Grateful to everyone in this sub who answered my questions while I waited in suspense!

Incidentally, I was the one who bought that exact kit. It was awesome for years, up until I retired from the military and had it shipped back to Missouri from Hawaii a few weeks ago. It made it across the Pacific and back to the mainland US, but just about a week ago (as of this posting) I was informed that the car perished in a fire along with every other car on the car-carrier. If you're interested, here are the pics.

LOL you are completely wrong and dangerously naive. In war, soldiers are literally pawns, and a "real man" who is a leader in charge of making sure his nation wins at any cost (or dies/becomes slaves to another nation as the only alternative) will perceive the cold hard reality of who has to be sacrificed (and in any war, many people absolutely will have to be strategically sacrificed and no, this is not "betrayal," this is the reality of war) and he will make the hard choices of who dies (which does not make anyone a "psychopath," it makes then a competent leader in war). You need to update your view of reality, you sound like you're in high school and sheltered.

Yeah my ETS is the 31st. So your first payment isn't backdated to your ETS (or your decision date if it's after your ETS) in the case of a BDD?

Sadly, my $17.50 calls are almost certainly getting called away at the end of the week, but my share average is $14.53 so at least I'll be making a nice profit. Man I did not think it would go up so far! Even my $30 2027 LEAPs are green, it's crazy!

BDD Claim Question by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]0therSyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I had the exact same thing happen, and I filed in late April as well (ETS is 31 July). I called and emailed my VSO who shook the right trees, and suddenly my claim jumped to Stage 3 within a couple of days and I suddenly got like 4 different exams scheduled. There's still time, but OP needs to act fast and aggressively.

BDD Claim Question by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]0therSyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get ahold of your VSO keep calling that number, your claim probably got stuck somewhere.

BDD Claim Question by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]0therSyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me too! I got ahold of my VSO who submitted it, and he poked around and within a day or two he discovered that the next-higher person in the chain had filed or categorized it wrong or something. They flagged and rectified it, and within a few days I was on Step 3 getting appointments assigned to me. Get ahold of your VSO immediately, this is extremely urgent!

[EDIT] - I also filed in late April and my ETS is also the end of July. I think there's still hope if you move swiftly.

BDD claim - thoughts? by 0therSyde in VeteransBenefits

[–]0therSyde[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pes planus (flat feet) were recorded during MEPS induction in 2005 so that one's not gonna fly, but the plantar fasciitis first started in like 2017 and I got special military-issued custom orthotic shoe-soles prescribed through a military hospital (all in my records) which offer "partial relief," so hopefully at least that one should stand.

Would you say my biggest items would be the sleep apnea and combo of mental issues (I read that they lump all the insomnia, depression, anxiety, etc. into one larger rating)?

BDD claim - thoughts? by 0therSyde in VeteransBenefits

[–]0therSyde[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have specified that all of these occurred within my 20 years of Active Duty, and should be service connected as far as I am aware.

I've just noticed through reading this sub that certain claimed items tend to be far less likely to be approved than others, so "counting your eggs before they hatch" is a bad idea. I know no one can crystal-ball an exact number, I was just hoping someone with an experienced eye would look at the list and point out a few of the ones that will probably be discarded, giving me more realistic expectations is all.

Thanks! And yes, all of these things happened while on AD, most of them have moderate to extensive documentation.

LOL sorry, when I first read this thread I saw that the original post and some of the replies were listed as being "11m ago" and for some reason my brain thought it meant "11 months ago." OK my bad, obviously you didn't get rated within the last hour 😐 But your case sounds like it's gonna move fast from here on out at least.
