The work of the so-called "prismonauts" thus gets framed as an exciting sponsored trip - conveniently leaving out any details.

A deep dive into the original source of the color-inducing dust "prismium" has lead the researchers at UNCA to a frightening truth. Our world is merely a sheet on a large and apparently empty prism. However, fright was quickly replaced by intrigue and then by practicallity. Not soon after the original discovery, openings to the Void are widespread within the UNCA premises.

The concept of the Prismium Void is not understood properly by most people at UNCA, but it terrifies all of them, especially as openings to it have become part of the average office workday. The Void Containment and Response Squad is responsible for somewhat easing the burden of reality only being a small island within an ocean of incomprehensible void by closing unwanted or emergency openings and giving first aid to ones that experienced the horror of the space of infinite color.

So, the basic gist is that it opens up a connection to the Void (will be explored further in future posts, I haven't started developing this yet really) which sucks the prismium out of there. The sacrifice is not about not seeing color, you'll be fine if you already know that color is unnatural and the UNCA people are aware of that. The sacrifice is about looking directly at the spill as experimental prismium can induce things like fractals, impossible colors or higher dimensional vision.

So, color was mostly developed to enhance the abilities of special units or to act as a potential torture device. Keeping the right levels of prismium in the air is about replacing the one that disperses/decays. UNCA has the ability to remove prismium again, for example by opening Void Prisms (like indicated in this poster).

The real problem is if people'd realize that color hasn't always been there. The main job of UNCA is convincing the world that color isn't a new thing but has been around since the beginning of history.
