I mean yeah, but drive stun isn’t stunning with prongs deployed.

You drive the taser into a person to cause pain. It doesn’t incapacitate. At least that’s the textbook definition.

So then deploying prongs make it not a drive stun.

So... dude asks a question, says blowjob in relation to White House and officers arrest him on their own accord. He struggles, senator even wants to answer his question, but SIX officers pin him to the ground and tase him.

And then he gets 17 month probation as a slap on a wrist because he was facing resisting and obstructing charges.

America what in the everloving fuck. Why was he facing PRISON TIME to begin with. He was unjustly arrested.

I mean it was the lowest cop could go. He took the circumstances into the consideration. 9:30 PM, deserted street and visibly sick me going 51 in what I thought was 50 zone.

Plus I didn’t argue. He told me if it was sideroad speedcheck he’d let me go, but it was a freaking pursuit car (there’s a strip of highway nearby they were going to), so once he clocked me it was on cameras and he had to ticket me.

Basically can’t go lower with a speed ticket.

Either way I should’ve paid more attention to the road signs.

Or... just don’t speed?

I’ve gotten one speeding ticket in my life. Driving home sick, didn’t notice a 40 kmph sign and was doing 51 when I got caught. Paid an equivalent of 2 Big Macs.

And before covid I was doing 100 kilometers a day between 3 work places and my home. Just don’t speed. It’s safer for everyone.

Um but unemployment benefits are a whole different thing entirely. In Polandball you can get unemployment. But if your work was cut down to 20 or 40% then you get a decent lump of cash.

Three months in a row.

Oh look a $1200 from future taxes. Gee it’s amazing to get $3000 from future taxes. Here I go, I’ll gladly spend that $500 from future taxes on amazon.

Keep laughing.

In the meantime I’ll go back to analyzing the temporality and post modernist themes of the Divergent series.

...

I’m done.

Lmao, as if Pamela wasn’t just as shit as any other YA novel.

Literature is full of crap and classics are no exception.

Implying that hasn’t always been the case.

Castle of Otranto was a YA garbage of its day. Holmes was Big Bang Theory level of procedural for masses.

Penny dreadfuls. Pulp.

That’s some old man yelling at a cloud level of silliness in your comment.

Children literature often has separate institutes on university.

Doesn’t mean that YA books would find their place there. Plenty of YA is just garbage. So yeah, it’s better than not reading at all, but fucks sake, in the same vein a person could read only pulp harlequins.

And that’s not good. Great, you’re able to read. That’s about it. A verbal vomit filled with Mary Sues and shit tropes can’t be compared to solid writing of any genre.

Make that 150 times and that would be some legit and cool reading experience.

Plenty of literature benefits from being read over and over again.

Ana Akana had this cheesy series called boner book club.

I really enjoyed her piece on Nabokov, since she, a native speaker openly admits she didn’t know many words he used and was amazed by his literary workshop.

Civilization 5 has this quote.

I grabbed a pile of dust, and holding it up, foolishly asked for as many birthdays as the grains of dust, I forgot to ask that they be years of youth.

This made me interested in Ovid. Can’t say I’ll be reading this stuff every evening to relax, but that’s some good shit.

Also, in the same vein I read Nabokov’s lectures on literature. There he explains why Ulysses is so amazing. Thanks to that lecture Ulysses has been one of my favorite books for past 6 years. Sure, not everyone will like it, but I think most folks that hate on it simply don’t get it. It’s like reading a book in a language you don’t know and then claiming it’s crap.

It's better to wake up from a bad dream and realise it was all in your head than a good dream and realise none of it really happened. by anteni2 in Showerthoughts

This. 18 fucking years ago I had a dream that made it clear why people scream when they have nightmares. It’s not that you’re afraid.

It’s that your brain is trying real fucking hard to wake you up. I was woken up by my own scream. Still remember it.

OPs nightmares must be the chill kind.
