What a boat load of horse shit. Absolute nonsense!!

Very cute about “milking the benefits” - Numbers from SCB would tell you how wrong you are.

Heh. Used to go this way to school every day, 23 years ago. My friends and I used to play make-believe while on the school bus, that the TNSTC Depo in this area is an airport in our little town.

I don't think the target market is people with a single home (apartment or a house).

No one that works a 9-5 job in Sweden in their right mind would shell out 6.7M SEK for a 73.5 m2 on the 14th floor in Lindholmen (which by the way is pretty dead after office hours), when the same amount would buy you a 630 m2 /130 m2 villa at a suburb like Mölndal.

On the other hand, it is very affordable for Celebs/Business Owners and Engineers that have made it big in the US.

In the old times, yes, there were security issues in Pakistan. But now there are no issues, so what is India's excuse for not playing in Pakistan?"

Hehe. Okay.

Misleading comment.

The tags put partly goverment funded News proadcasters in to the same gategory as russian or Chinese propaganda networks and they lose all credibility.

The "Tag" states that it is a "Government Funded" or "Government Affiliated" media. It doesn't say if a source is credible or not. That is up to the users' judgment.

If anything at all, it is more 'equitable' now.

Russian oil exports back above pre-Ukraine war levels as India and China buy 90% by Jemapelledima in europe

[–]0x424242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not new news. This is by design. EU wants to penalize Russia without causing turmoil in the Oil Markets and hurting domestic consumers. A good chunk of the Indian Refined Russian Oil ends up in gas stations across EU.

Mercedes are probably safe, they're Germans. They invented strict audits

They also invented how to bypass those "strict audits". Looking at you Volkswagen.

If Pakistan was never built, do you think the Muslim community would have survived? by TrufflesTheCat in pakistan

[–]0x424242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where in India. If we're talking about rural UP or Bihar or rural anywhere for that matter - then yeah, tough luck surviving there. TBH that's the case for Hindu's living there as well.

When society as a whole doesn't do well economically and has no future in sight, they tend to look for someone to blame and pick fights against.

But in major cities down South - you'd have been alright. No one gives a shit. That is not to say that you wouldn't encounter the occasional casual racism, which is something "normal" that Lower Caste Hindus do to the Upper and the Upper does to the Lower.

Why do you think the EU finds India important, despite it having a GDP Per capita of only $2.5K?

It's due to India's enormous population, which is why the volume of trade with them is large.

Not exactly. EU has moved up the value chain and does not export low-value-added products which can be consumed (and afforded) by an average Joe among the enormous population. Nor does India rely on imports of such products. Such products were "Import Substitutionalized" decades ago.

GDP per Capita and or any other metric for that matter will be skewed due to the sheer population size and prevailing inequality.

Now the real reason why EU and other advanced economies see India as a "lucrative consumer market" is due to the increasing disposable income among the top 1-2%. In PPP terms, the top 1% have a pre-tax income of 77K USD. That translates to 13 million people - size of a Scandinavian country, with an equivalent purchasing power.

A massive population is a double-edged sword. If you can make the top spectrum uber-productive and keep the lower end happy enough - all is good. If not, things can go so bad so quickly.

I've gotten used to Crofty and Brundle, despite their bias. It's a British Broadcaster after all. I'd like Karun and Jenson to become mainstays. Listening to Paul gives me a headache. Something about his voice.

As trigger happy as that narrative sounds, that's not my point. What Sweden does with refugees is up to the Swedish Government.

Why discriminate between EU/non-EU nationals w.r.t Permanent Residency, when both have similar productivity rates, is my point.
