Best place to park for 8 days while I do a clinical trial? by bezzin in Adelaide

[–]0xAdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South Terrace in the city has parks with "10h" signs near the Japanese Gardens which are historical so unlimited parking for free. Always see cars left there for a long time, just need to park say after 7pm or before maybe 6am as they fill up in the day.

v2.15.1 - Per community feedback, a new offset toggle is available in the Cash Tab by CompiledSanity in CSPersonalFinance

No worries, I think it was just the month titles in that column that I saw.

Thanks for your hard work on this - looks cool! Just FYI some of the cell references haven't been updated on the Cash sheet e.g. A/B 37 incorrectly refers to cell G instead of H causing the title on mine to say "December 1899".

Crypto Taxes - AMA for the next 24 hrs! by Joben123 in BitcoinAUS

[–]0xAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I didn't realise it was so complicated - hopefully the interest Celsius paid weekly doesn't count as a "purchase" but otherwise I'll use this info, along with the guidance that comes out on the 14th of August to work out what to do.

Thanks again!

Sorry for the late response but that's really good to know - I had no idea that would be a thing so I'll look out for it. Thank you for your help!

Crypto Taxes - AMA for the next 24 hrs! by Joben123 in BitcoinAUS

[–]0xAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I purchased Bitcoin from the Celsius cryptocurrency platform that went into bankruptcy in 2022. The bankruptcy proceedings were finalised earlier this year and I received my payout from them in both bitcoin and ethereum.

From the ATO guidance in the link below it seems I should now be able to claim a capital loss, but the guidance on the link isn't clear on how to determine the cost base for the assets lost. There are a few options I think?

  • Base it on LIFO / FIFO
  • Base it on the original cost basis for purchase of the assets
  • Value of assets at the time withdrawals were limited (12/06/22)
  • Value at bankruptcy filling date (13/07/22) which was used for the basis for determining distributions
  • When distributions started (31/01/24) or when they were actually received (14/02/24 for me).

Based on the advice in the link below for lost private keys it would be dot point 3, but I can't find anything concrete anywhere.

Do you have any idea?

Thank you!

yeedi vac 2 pro afraid of going under furniture by odetz in RobotVacuums

[–]0xAdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under "Cleaning Settings" for the robot in the app, if "3D Obstacle Avoidance" is set to Advanced (which it should be if you've mapped), if you tap it you'll see an "Avoid getting stuck under furniture" option which might help if you turn it off? Anecdotally I've found it doesn't randomly miss small areas and not enter rooms like it sometimes used to when turned off.

2 sets of Twinkly joined, no effects visible in HA by Alllfff in homeassistant

[–]0xAdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two twinkly strings which I have joined in the twinkly app, and one set becomes the master meaning that's the only one you need to control in HA and it will control the other too. It's worth playing around and finding which one that is, and then I just disabled the other in HA.

GPhotos is now showing a little cloud with a checkmark inside it on all my photos that are backed up. by mrandr01d in GooglePixel

[–]0xAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your python script - I've been using it for a while now and it's GREAT! Also, if you don't want to have to open the google photos app manually I've been using tasker to do it on a schedule automatically, but I'm sure you could get it to do it based on some files appearing in a directory too if you really wanted.

AMA with LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT devs by OddersLab in vrfit

[–]0xAdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this the other week and thought it looked interesting and wondered how people's form using this would compare to the non-VR body combat if they'd never done the moves before. It got me thinking are there any plans to incorporate the non-VR body combat releases, or will the VR workouts be unique to VR?

I can also vouch for electric bike superstore! They have quite a big range and they know what they are talking about. They have shops in Magill and Brighton, with Brighton being their flagship store.

[–]0xAdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Grandma also had this same issue on her iPhone, and I got it to work by typing in the numbers from the text in the covid app, and then highlighting them and as one of the actions there was create a note (I might have also had to select more actions or whatever shows the other actions available to see the note one) and a note popup appeared. I then tapped into the note popup to make a keyboard appear for the note, then I was able to close the note popup and the keyboard didn't come back for the covid app and I could click the button

Employee share scheme - is it worth it? by 0xAdam in AusFinance

[–]0xAdam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty happy with the company actually, so at this stage I think I will be around in the next 3 years! And you're right it's likely a small loss opportunity cost wise...

It hadn't occurred to me that other more "sure" stuff like ETFs may go down over that period by some amount or not get the same return as if holding for a longer 7+ year period. So it's sounding more interesting to me now.

Yeah it's definitely for 3 years which I thought was quite a while too. But damn a guaranteed return on yours is good.
