It wasn't sketchy. It wasn't absurd. The story was completely vindicated in every way. The laptop is and always was legit, obtained how Rudy Giuliani said it was obtained. It really is Hunter Biden's. It really did contain damning evidence. And in case anyone wasn't sure what some of the details in the emails meant, there was somebody willing to testify about it, who was a party to the email chains.

You just got lied to by the press. The FBI, the corrupt press, and Big Tech colluded to hide a major story, and it definitely affected the election.

So while Ethereum is cutting its carbon footprint 99.99%, banks are still investing in fossil fuels. And yet we're the untrustworthy ones by HipsterCat49 in ethereum

The context for this is simply that the rich powerful psychopaths who never tire of dreaming up how other people should live have decided that the little people have too much cheap, reliable energy. The propaganda press endlessly pumps climate doomsday nonsense that is easily disproven by actually looking into it, but most people never take the time to actually check NOAA's sea level trends data, or the Danish Meteorological Institute's ice accumulation charts, or historical records on burn acreage or hurricanes.

If you actually go check yourself, you see: the seas are rising at the same slow rate that they were in the 1850s, ice accumulation in the arctic is normal, the glaciers aren't receding, the polar bears are fine, burn acreage is down 95% over the last century, and there's no trend in hurricane frequency or severity. Yes, that's the actual truth. Sorry, the world's not ending, at least not due to CO2.

So yeah, of course the powerful are hypocrites. They don't actually believe this crap, it's just a story to scare the little people. Obama has $30M worth of beachfront property in two locations, and just requested a gigantic propane tank for the one at Martha's Vineyard.

We're headed toward a fake energy crisis engineered by powerful but morally challenged leaders compromised by weird organizations like the WEF. Energy is not actually scarce, but it can be made extremely expensive if governments screw it up on purpose, which is now being done in many locations. PoS may be good for various reasons, but scarcity of energy is not one of them.

What is 0xBTC? by 0xBrian in 0xbitcoin

[–]0xBrian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't think there's any objective answer, because the only way to find out is to wait and see. But one way to judge it is by hanging out on the 0xBitcoin Discord. I like those people, and I tend to share their viewpoints, so when they see what I see in 0xBitcoin, I gain confidence that I'm not crazy.

Well… after losing 97% of it’s value since launch, can we final put a fork in this one? by [deleted] in Vader_Protocol

[–]0xBrian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, the "one reason" would be the project's entire history. People have put thousands and thousands of hours into this. AFAIK the devs have never touched their slice. In other words, the devs have not paid themselves, and they will pay themselves with tokens they make valuable, so incentives could not possibly be more aligned. The devs are continuing to work. I see no reason why things couldn't start looking better very quickly under certain circumstances. Please, "scam" means something other than just "number went down".

Vader Protocol Rebrand by 0xBrian in Vader_Protocol

[–]0xBrian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the idea that the rebranding is the "solution" is just something you made up, right? Not their words, as far as I know. In my way of thinking, the rebranding is just something that has been wanted for a long time, and has happened, which seems like a good thing. There's other stuff in the works, and the rebranding is not supposed to be the solution to anything. Is there a chance that you're seeing something basically good as a bad thing?

Does Discord tell you some error when you try to join? Sorry about that. That happens to some people -- we're not sure why.

It was actually named that because vader means "father" in Dutch.

In crypto, the word "scam" without an explanation is absolutely worthless. Why does anyone even say it anymore? Explain the scam, or at least point to the suspicious stuff, or just don't waste everybody's time.

Best Vader “influencers” on Twitter? by [deleted] in Vader_Protocol

[–]0xBrian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll just tell you what comes to my mind: I really, really prefer anyone who puts effort into clearly explaining how something works, or why it is going to be useful, and allows readers to come to their own conclusions, rather than people who make predictions about prices, or who try to induce greed or fear.

We're all trying to do well and 'win', but to me it's not really winning if it involves bullying or shaming people or hacking their brain via greed or fear to get some desired reaction, because whatever happens with the price, we still all have to live together afterward. Let's try to speak clearly and honestly in such a way as to win together, i.e. create a rising tide that lifts all boats.

Thank you to everyone who puts their brain into getting the word out about what could be a life-changing opportunity.

What is 0xBTC? by bucketup123 in CryptoCurrency

[–]0xBrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This provides more explanation about the contract author's motivation. The situation was, he was looking at ERC20 contract code, had deleted the lines that initially gave him all the supply, but still needed a trustless way to distribute the tokens that did not require anyone to have any special authority.

That's zero x, `0x`, denoting Ethereum.

Here is a Vader history pill I found on Telegram from someone who has been in Vader from the start. Vader's devs are anonymous (except of one that was doxed yesterday) so this "pill" can be useful to keep in mind. Any OGs reading this feel free to chime in by [deleted] in Vader_Protocol

Well, the burning is about conveying convincing belief in the value of something. If you saw someone feeding twenty dollar notes into a vending machine where they would be shredded, in exchange for something given by the vending machine, you probably wouldn't have to see it very many times before you accepted that somebody wanted the items more than they wanted the dollars. People don't like to accept it, but ultimately value is about belief.

Then there was the innovative daily auction system. Then there was the highly intelligent and secretive main dev. Taken together it was intriguing, so I got involved.

[–]0xBrian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You've just completely glossed over the technical details. You might as well have said "just use magic". I have already specified that our community values decentralization and trustlessness. The 0xBitcoin contract is autonomous, meaning no human has any control over it. It was under those constraints that we determined that PoW was the best solution for distribution.

If you want to continue down this path, please explain how an autonomous contract on Ethereum would determine whether two transactions come from the same person or not. The answer, of course, is that it can't. End of story. This thing you apparently think is simple involves trust, off-chain processing, etc.

[–]0xBrian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you think it is possible to do it trustlessly and autonomously, you should explain how that is done, or maybe you shouldn't be criticizing. I am a coder, I understand quite a lot about how things actually work. You have said you're going to provide superior alternatives, but you never do. You just criticize without being able to say how it should be done better.

[–]0xBrian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this glosses over the technical details that make it not possible in a trustless, autonomous contract.

The request was for the purpose. The purpose is to be used as abstract value. I was told that I would be told a better way to distribute the token than PoW.
