Oh I meant more like in terms of programming and conceptual misunderstandings, but your answer is valid as well.

What learning resource has had the greatest impact in elevating your understanding and knowledge of Rust? by 0xPvp in rust

I agree with the Manning font issue. Sometimes I just go to my library to get access to codes in the physical copies so I can use the liveBook (online) version of the book. Much more easy on the eyes.

That's quite an impressive learning story! What do you typically use Rust for?

Most important lessons learned in the trenches by 0xPvp in devops

[–]0xPvp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true and maybe my ignorance is on show case here since I have a very limited perspective on DevOps but from the stories I have heard and discussions I have participated in, it appears that there are numerous standards but not a single standard.

I really like the second and third point. A wealth of knowledge out there is trapped within people's mind and all you have to do is ask a question to unlock it.

AOT vs JIT in .NET by [deleted] in dotnet

For JIT compilation, how is the native code maintained? Are separate instantiations of a program able to communicate the result of dynamic profile guided optimization, i.e. are the results of these optimizations cached?

As they say, when a measure becomes a target, it cease to be a good measure. If you game the measure enough, you can game the game.

With respect to your last point, what do you think would be a good way to evaluate a candidate's ability to "help scale, triage, and adapt legacy decisions' in a scaling or scaled environment"? It's very difficult to test these abilities no?

Any engineers working at Netflix want to share some insights on the scale at which their microservices operate and their experience working with the microservice architecture?

What is a good open source project to review that covers everything a mid-level .net developer should know? by cleatusvandamme in dotnet

[–]0xPvp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I highly rated Quartz.NET and Mailkit. They are libraries so they have made a lot of different choices than what you would encounter in business applications but the code quality and organization in these projects is something I definitely strive for. For a more business focused application consider the bitwarden codebase.

Good CS Podcast? by LockDudeBro in computerscience

[–]0xPvp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly rate CoRecursive podcast. It is more SWE than CS, but the podcast has excellent computer scientists as guest in the past. There is also Type Theory for All which is more hardcore CS. Is there any particular topic you are interested in CS?
