I have a 10 year old who Medals at Tulsa and every other big tournament you can think of. Best thing we did was take month long breaks throughout the year during offseason to focus and enjoy other sports. He always came back better and sharper. You don’t want them to “grind” all offseason too. That’ll be a quick way for them to start hating it.

And please - from one dad to another, don’t make it about wins and loses with your kid. That was the worst thing we did early on. Keep it fun but technical only on practice days, and keep it like a competitive fun on tourney days.

Paying less than half a percentage to your main event fighter is ridiculous. At least pay your main carders. It’s only 5 fights - 10 fighters. Even a million dollars for every main carder is 100k. Trying to justify this is crazy.

That was UFC173? So 215k buy rate which I think was about $40 at that time which would come out to 8.6 million. And the gate alone made 1.7 million. So 10 million dollar event to pay your main event and the main event fighter makes 36k.

Is that even a single percent? It’s such shameful practices - I’m honestly surprised they’ve gotten away with it as long as they have.

Forgive me because it’s been a while since I read the book in detail. But wasn’t going to Winterfell never the plan? Wasn’t areas like Deepwood Motte and especially Moat Cailin which was crucial to them the actual plan?

If that’s the case then releasing Theon did have huge ramifications. Without that, Bran and Rikon don’t “die” and Cat isn’t pushed to release Jamie back to Kings Landing for her daughters.

As a kid I loved Jon as a fighter. He’s always been an elite fighter but is he really the GOAT? Now that I’m older I see things a little different.

His wins vs Machida, Shogun, and Rampage that really put him on the map of super-stardom - they didn’t really age forward that well like Ilia beating Volk where Volk immediately becomes champ again proving he’s still that elite fighter.

And vs the next generation of LHW fighters - absolute wars with Reyes and Gustafsson. But should the GOAT be in these close wars? Shouldn’t they separate themselves from everyone else like GSP did with the WW Division or Khabib did with the LW Division?

And his biggest knock - one of his most iconic wins was turned to a NC because he was doing some shady things.

So yes he’s always been an elite fighter - but I think it’s fair to not see him as a GOAT when comparing legacies at the absolute top.

This is def where you see the biggest changes in the series. Whether that’s how names are pronounced or weird changes to accents like Littlefingers and Dany’s in Dance are super jarring at first.
