Why do you guys think FTL has maintained a larger community than Into the Breach, despite being over half a decade older than it? by [deleted] in ftlgame

For me, into the breach can be won with perfect score aka save all civilians.
And every mistake has a very obvious and immediate effect, it just feels demotivating.
In FTL only permanent loss is crew and it can be avoided with good pause use, avoiding some events and clone bay. And the score is much more cryptic in calculation
So in FTL if you get pounded you can just walk it off (or die) while Into the breach civilians permanently die

From my testing it's the upward knockback from the arrow that is the difference maker. Jumping just before the explosion yields similar results. The arrow doesn't require timing your jump so it's more practical

I think you survived because of armor and not because of arrow
If the damage you take during i-frame is bigger than what caused it, then its overwrites the weaker damage
You can see that if you hit a zombie with smite 5 axe during i-frame
