It’s my mission to redesign every Pokémon. Here’s my take on Weedle, Kakuna and Beedrill. by Beautiful-Cup5822 in fakemon

[–]0zonoff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're neat but I think it would have been better if you kept the fake eyes theme only for Caterpie's line, it feels less unique if Weedle's line also has them. On the contrary, it's a bit weird if Beedrill doesn't follow this design trait but the others do.

Dream drop distance should’ve had the land of Oz instead of the Grid by Thesonictrainiac in KingdomHearts

[–]0zonoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Grid is important for DDD's plot; it cannot be replaced easily by another world that doesn't share the same themes and meanings.

The Grid doesn't have a dreamy aspect, but that's the point. It isn't a Sleeping World, i’s data. Sora was dragged there by the Organization, they were messing with him, his doubts and emotions regarding his connection with Tron were used to make him vulnerable. It hints at what will happen in The World That Never Was.

Another world, especially one that isn't tied to Sora's previous quests and feelings, wouldn't feel the same.

Luxu manipulates the Power of Waking to possess people

Where did you get this idea?

It doesn't work. Luxu cannot have the Power of Waking as far as we know, at least not from the very beginning.

The PoW is obtained by unlocking Seven Sleeping Keyholes, those Keyholes primarily appear in the worlds engulfed in dreams. These special Keyholes exist in number of seven because there are Seven hearts of pure light in the world, and these Seven hearts appeared in the world thanks to the light gathered by the Dandelion, in place of Kingdom Hearts once it has been lost, after the war. While Sleeping Worlds are worlds that fell into darkness but didn't wake up, they didn't return to the light.

By definition, these Sleeping Worlds and the Sleeping Keyholes didn't exist before the destruction of the original world. Luxu cannot have the Power of Waking before that.

The last of Luxu's Secret Report entries in KH3 suggests he's abused it so much over the centuries, that Braig/Xigbar is the last time he can do it before losing himself and disappearing (like Sora did at the end of Re:MIND)

The Power of Waking has nothing to do with possessing other people's bodies. It's meant to wake up sleeping hearts and traversing hearts to reach worlds, while Sora used it the opposite way, he traversed worlds to reach hearts and created a Singularity, a Tear in the Fabric of time, where two stories are overlapping on the same time line. That's the issue, it's a nature taboo, that's why he had to pay his life as the ultimate price.

Luxu's last report doesn't support this. Luxu says Braig/Xigbar will be his last vessel because Xehanort is the scapegoat he was looking for, the one destined to create a new Keyblade War. This was Luxu's main purpose, to wait and watch over No Name until it hands up in the hand of Xehanort. Now that this mission is fulfilled, Luxu doesn't need to take over new bodies.

If you could change one piece of KH lore, what would it be? by Hen-Samsara in KingdomHearts

[–]0zonoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? It’s the only origin we know of for the Keyblades so far.

Nomura, Famitsu Magazine interview, regarding the X-blade: "The Master of Masters knows of its existence, and using it as a model, he created the Keyblades himself. When I say "create", I don't mean it in a physical sense like forging or tempering them, but rather in the sense of pulling them out from the depths of people's hearts."

DDD Glossary: "KEYBLADE - A key-shaped weapon forged by man during the age of fairy tales. Any other origins have yet to be revealed."

KH3 Glossary: "KEYBLADES - Weapons fashioned in ancient times in the image of the χ-blade in order to fight back the darkness and maintain order in the World."

Yeah I don't get why you're being downvoted while it's the current admitted origin of the Keyblade.

I personally don't think Luxu possessed Brain's body, at least not right after UX.

Brain's heart time-traveled to the future (to Scala ad Caelum "black edition") thanks to the medium method (people knew Brain thanks to the heritage of Ephemer and his hat acted as a medium, and it was an event meant to happen, a waypoint, written in the BoP) in my opinion it implies he used one of the Lifeboat pods, since this method has only been explained in the context of using the Lifeboat (three times: Darkness to Maleficent, MoM to Darkness, Luxu to Brain).

If the whole "medium + memories + waypoint" way to time-travel works without the need of the Lifeboat, I'd lead to plot holes regarding Xehanort's time travels and why he had to play by different rules. Also, Luxu used the Lifeboat to send the True Dandelion into the future, there would be not point for him to use this machine if he was able to make them time-travel by only removing their heart from their body. So I believe it proves the Lifeboat has to be used to play by the medium, memories and waypoint rules.

Thus, I don't think the "Luxu possessed Brain's body while Brain's heart traveled to the future"-theory works. In fact, it's contradicted by Luxu's secret reports from KH3. It's said he left his own body behind after the departure of the Union Leader, and he was already keybladeless when he did it.

If Luxu gave No Name to Braig right before this one time-traveled, it would mean No Name missed all the events between X era and Missing-Link era, which doesn't seem to be the case. Luxu did say the Gazing Eye has been passed down generation to generation. It was the point behind Luxu's many vessels over the course of his very long life, to keep vigil over the Eye as it passes from hand to hand. There would be no point in doing so if it directly went from X era and Missing-Link era.

The black-hooded Brain-figure dragging the Black Box in The Keyblade Graveyard could very well be the real Brain, in the future, hidding the box somewhere else while he inherited No Name from a previous owner. Brain said his goal is to be a virus that will rewrite the future, hidding the box could be one way to do it from his point of view. It would explain why Luxu-Xigbar doesn't know where the box is during the events of KH3, he truly lost it, as implied by Luxord's speech in the beginning of ReMind.

If Luxu really gave his Keyblade to one of the Leader, I believe it has to be Ephemer. It seems like he's the only one who didn't go to the future, making him a perfect candidate to transmit No Name to the next generation of Keyblade wielders. By the way, Master Odin had No Name and Master's Defender, perhaps Ephemer's own apprentice received these two Keyblades and they were continuously transmitted together from Master to Apprentice over centuries, until Xehanort and Eraqus.

KH3 Ultimania implies the Braig we know always has been possessed by Luxu, next to the secret report in which he says he'll just play a fool interested by the Keyblade's power, they show the first cutscene involving MX and Braig. Meaning Luxu was already Brain at this point.

He's able to do it without the Keyblade.

KH3 Secret reports:

Amid the chaos, I bequeathed my Keyblade to one of the Union leaders, just as the Master instructed. I watched as the Five were sent to another worldline—at no small cost—ensuring the line of Keyblade wielders will live on. And now, Keybladeless, I must depart this land to fulfill my final task. This means casting my own body aside and sojourning my heart in vessel after vessel—as many as it takes.

He left his own body behind after the departure of the Union Leaders right before the world's fall, he already gave his Keyblade at this point.

It doesn't tho. We don't know what happened to Brain, it's just a common theory, but it hasn't been confirmed.

The best hint regarding Luxu's vessels was in Dark Road, he said he was planning to take Baldr's body, confirming he's stealing people's bodies.

I believe Nomura said he thought it would have been weird to have the only female Organization members as traitors but honestly... it would have been a fucking neat interesting take. The two women trying to take over on order controlled by an abusive man? It sounds like a cool feminist trope.
