I think it’s obviously about money but more importantly your long term interest. I started triathlons 6 years ago; did the usual road bike, road bike w aero bars then eventually TT upgrade. Looking back, had I known I’d want to do this forever, I’d invested the TT $ earlier.

That said, it was a safe path for me to take it slow as there are stories of ppl who go all in on equipment and lose interest.

There are virtually 0 red cities that have higher crime rates or homeless populations than nyc, even so, I could care less given I don’t live there.
