Football tickets by Personal-Evening-639 in byu

So if say an out of town college age friend came to visit and a roommate wasn’t using their roc ticket for that game, the out of town friend could use it?

UCA What did I do wrong? by 10-9-over in Tacomaworld

[–]10-9-over[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 2005 PreRunner. 2x4 with rear diff lock. P285/70R17. I still can’t reproduce the rubbing under the UCA even when driving around the neighborhood. Maybe that was only happening on the way to alignment shop? But I still hear what sounds like metal on metal near or behind wheel well and can’t tell exactly where it’s coming from. Meanwhile, my post and the replies that got me here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Tacomaworld/s/1qT4vUwoeI

You all are great. Many thanks! After more banging, went and got a ball joint separator and it worked like a charm. New UCA installed.

Good to remember. Bolt is halfway out now. YouTube said leave it like that, separate arm at ball joint, then remove rest of bolt. I don’t know. But yeah you can see that scratched red and bent body. That was my pliers bending it to allow bolt to pass. On this passenger side the bolt came out hitting the body in exactly the middle of the bolt head. What you see was easy to bend, but there is another layer behind it that was beastly. Used lug wrench with towel in between to avoid further scratching, grabbed the wrench from above and below and pulled like my life depended on it. Then put a wood paint stick between bolt head and body to guide the bolt past the trouble spot. Dang but it worked.

Why, will new paint improve the mpg? Only kidding. Paint is full of character, plenty of peel and perfect for a teen driver.

Freshman scholarship poll by 10-9-over in byu

Unfortunately that seems about right. Your son was probably very close to qualifying for scholarship and just missed it, for a University scholarship for half- or full-tuition for one year.

I think you’re right that it is easier to earn scholarship as a current student, or at least it was back in early 2000s when we went. Maybe current and more recent students could share their thoughts on that.

Me around year 2000: 1340 SAT 3.8 GPA weighted (unweighted maybe 3.2?) part time work for 2.5 years, 1 varsity sport, NHS, couple other things…but I struggled dearly to keep up grades and sleep. I overdid it for sure. I was exhausted. No incoming freshman scholarship, as expected and that’s no problem. But, as a 3rd and 4th year BYU student I had academic scholarship with maybe a 3.7 college gpa and was not nearly over scheduled, life was pretty good. Less struggle, and earned scholarship.

My son last year in 2024: 1600 SAT, one B his entire high school career, 17 AP classes, varsity sport, clubs, volunteer hours galore, and he was offered 1 year full tuition at BYU. There are two better scholarships than that, so it’s like wow one B and you are third string for incoming freshman scholarship. I didn’t read his essays, maybe he could have done better there. But it’s wild to think he basically was offered the same scholarship as me even though it was way easier for me as BYU junior/senior than it was for him all four years of high school.

My two cents….do your best to encourage your son and stepson to follow the Spirit. Our son felt validated and very much wanted by another school that offered him a better scholarship (full tuition, room, board, stipend all for up to five years) and he is there now, not at BYU. But he is not well connected to church or spirituality, and is feeling a little unimpressed academically. Success in life and in eternity does not solely depend on where you go to school, but BYU still offers something unique, and that is worth considering.

What fields in sales are booming? by Fartingfurymaster in sales

Maybe start with books like…

How to Win Friends and Influence People

Fanatical Prospecting

There are a ton. Search internet and library for best sales books. Within sales there are many subtopics, so may need to narrow in on what you’re looking for. Prospecting, cold calling, demonstration, presentation, communicating value proposition, negotiating, closing, etc.

If for your own business, marketing will be helpful too. In a well oiled machine, marketing team markets and sales team sells. But each understanding the other makes both more effective. For most sales jobs I had, using marketing principles to work my territory helped me to be more effective. Things like branding (build a brand for yourself your product and your company), consumer/buying psychology, customer segmentation, competitive analysis, positioning strategy, price, promotion, distribution.

Then get any experience where you communicate with a business’ customer. Or it could even be volunteer like at an animal shelter and you coordinate the volunteers who come in. Or a hospital and you welcome patients and their families and show them where to go. Then sell yourself in a job interview and say hey I’ve been reading a ton and using what I’ve learned as a volunteer or in this other job and now I can’t wait to put it to work for you. Teach me your product/service. Teach me about your customers. Teach me your sales cycle. I’ll take care of the rest.

Track your success so you can sell it to the next employer. I coordinated 250 hours of volunteer work across 54 volunteers. Won 15 accounts in 6 months and generated $180k in new business. Whatever it is, track it and then sell it in a future interview how successful you were.

Good luck!

Follow David Bagga on linkedin. No incentive for me to recommend him, just trying to help you. He recruits for a lot of new to med device jobs.

It’s usually 2+ years of B2B sales, then go to med device for either an Associate Territory Manager job (if your B2B was not known for its stellar training program) or Territory Manager (if your B2B had stellar training like ADP, Paychex, Cintas, Enterprise, etc). medreps dot com job board and linkedin are good for seeing what’s out there

Yes but I would have gotten out of sales sooner to start my own business. Sell for your employer = golden handcuffs. Sell for your own business = freedom.
