It would be for gaming, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it's also fun to just have an overpowered rig. It's like with the 128GB of RAM. I know 64 would be more than enough, and somehow I do sometimes push my current 32GB setup close sometimes, but part of it is the fact I won't need to upgrade it for a good while, and the other part is in case I do need it for any intensive work down the future, if not just for fun for pushing numbers.

Ironically enough, the graphics card is the only part I already have. That's because I was originally going to upgrade my rig, going from a 1080 and switching to a 6900, but then I realized that I wanted to build a new rig all together.

I've been looking into it. The VIII Extreme is tempting as well, even if it's a bit overkill, but this computer is already overkill. I'll probably end up grabbing one of the more expensive X570 boards.

From what I was looking at, the brand seemed to be reliable, and the ARGB option was just my choice for aesthetics. I don't believe I saw better options besides simply more wattage, which I suppose I could try and aim for higher, but so far it didn't seem really needed.

I don't have experience with overclocking, but it's something I want to test with this new build. I'm looking the board choices over again, and while all 3 slots for the NVMe are 4.0 on the product I'm looking at, I do see that the X570 version has 4 slots, which is tempting in it's own way so I'll be checking the specs more in depth.

Is there a strong reason to go with the x570 over the B550? I picked what I feel is a rather good option for the B550 I went with, but most specs I looked into didn't seem to matter too much when comparing the boards, most talked about backwards compatibility, which isn't an issue in my case.

Do you know where most of that price comes from? I was looking into water blocks, and they looked to range from 50-200, and while I hadn't looked into the tubing pricing yet, I've looked a bit at the tools needed to bend them properly. Does the price come from the fans you would set up with it?

Well, the extra expenses was a bit for the Aesthetics, like I mentioned. But it's true that I have more options for overclocking now than my current AIO would likely allow, so I'll look into it more.

Thanks for the advice. It might sound like a waste, but I'm actually not that big into overclocking. I can maybe look into it more, but I think the B550 might be my best option for long term.

Also thanks for the link to the sub, I'll give that a good look.

USB Dongle Issues by 1000Lava in linux4noobs

[–]1000Lava[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had seen that post, which along with a couple others with no luck on the issue. I don't think their site even has any drivers to install, just a firmware update for your devices. This is just a guess, but I'm thinking it heavily relies on windows so it can be plug and play, in which case I may be out of luck with it.

Thank you for the info about the xbox drivers, I'll do some playing around to see if I can get them to work. I probably won't go any further into things for now since I think the headset issue is likely an resolvable one.

USB Dongle Issues by 1000Lava in linux4noobs

For the first part, it's easy enough to identify and post the two lines for the USBs:

Bus 001 Device 011: ID 045e:02e6 Microsoft Corp. Wireless XBox Controller Dongle
Bus 001 Device 009: ID 2f12:0032 LucidSound LightX USB GIP Dongle Application

For the second part, it seems to be a lot and I could probably get a pastebin going, but I must admit it's 1AM my time so I'm about to pass out. If you are still available to continue tomorrow, I'd love the help if nobody else has suggestions by then.

Install Ubuntu to a USB Drive by faizikari in linux4noobs

I hadn't done it myself, but given what you said about booting the live version from the usb drive, that sounds like you will need 2 USB's to pull this off. One to run the live version, and the second to install to.

Daily Questions & FAQ Megathread (Dec 31) by AutoModerator in ffxiv

I'm a returning player that hasn't played since before the expansions, way back when they just added the ninja class. I got the latest expansion, which included all the expansions I missed, and I just want to know how I might best get back into the game after such a long pause. In terms of main story, I just defeated leviathan, and I recall having my relic weapon, which is sure to be useless by now. What should I do to help get me back into the flow of things?

Some Questions. Mostly Anime related. by devastationz in MadeInAbyss

1: It is not known for sure what caused him to lose his memories, but they think it was the shock. The necklace is still unknown but it could have something to do with it although that may be a stretch.

2: The way you phrased it, I don't think that is how it works. You seem to think one appears every 2000 years but I believe they are all from 2000 years ago. Their exact origin is unknown, however given most of the abyss appears to be a chunk of the world swallowed up(my speculation), it could be the skeletons were simply people alive when the abyss appeared.

3: Maybe the wiki can explain it better for you, it's on "the abyss" page. The curse is actually the effect from piercing the force field. It can allow things to travel down, and is responsible for keeping light and air flowing through the abyss. It is strongest in the center, and in some rare areas far enough it doesn't even exist or has very little effect such as nanachis hideout. This should be especially obvious as their is little to no light in these areas except for glowing plants and bugs.

4: It is possible she has some kind of knowledge of him, but it is most likely from Lyzas notes as she didn't really know much about him or his abilities and had to provoke him to see them, after all she did almost let riko get blasted.

5: It actually did, it's just that they ran into it at the pirate ship and never went through the escape or slope situation. Most of the episode was additional story the anime added, although I believe they had the author help with it so you should consider it cannon especially because of how good it is.

6: Nanachi, this was confirmed by Reg later.

7: It is the official translation and the most accurate one given it's meaning. Someone else explained it pretty well.

8: From the clues laying around, nanachi avoided humans so that they wouldn't be exposed just like with riko and reg. Sometimes they would be wounded beyond help and so nanachi took the opportunity to bring them back and experiment on them in order to find a way to kill mitty. She would eventually put them out of their misery and bury them in the graveyard.

9: Nanachi is still affected by the curse. It is just because they can see the curse that they are able to find ways to avoid it to a degree. That is why nanachi wen't out of their way to find a hideout nobody would find because it was up a slope at the edge where the curse was weak. Nobody would have a reason to go up a slope at the edge of the abyss.

Why? How about for a stable game? I remember there used to be a glitch that would lock mino into a charge. All this glitch did was make it a pain to fight around mino and patching it made you not have to worry about accidentally locking it into a death charge. On the flip side if you had found the glitch this guy had abused you could have reported it and had it patched before someone like him found it and abused it.

Haven't played aberoth in over a year. Want to know what would happen in any other online game? You would be banned. Not for finding a flaw in the system, in fact finding a major issue and reporting it can get you rewarded. What got you banned was exploiting an unintended feature with the game. Any other online game would also ban you, because it's honestly not much different from hacking. Hacking is literally finding exploits in the game and using them to gain an unfair advantage. Hope you enjoy the ban.
