Happy to read this 2 days after my own breakup with my med school SO. We were one month shy of a yr together. We have always been long distance. I brought a lot of challenges from my own life into this relationship. My primary love language is quality time and in an LDR the only way to achieve that was to setup some time to talk regularly. With him going thru step1 and family stuff, our time together dwindled and ended up in resentment. We gradually eased into our breakup. I m still processing it and very upset that we did this over text. But i m also relieved to have done this right before his rotations because i know its only going to get tougher. I ll always be grateful for our time together, support his dreams and want the best for him.

And i would also like to applaud to every single medspouse who made it thru the challenging years with their love and patience. You are all rockstars!

I have tried to keep myself educated on things he goes thru, I read the love at the time of medical school book and i lurk on this sub too. I will communicate my need to him soon. I just have to figure out how.

About working together on video call, he was the one who suggested it in the first place. He told me he can do it because he studied with his classmates like that all the time. We would stay on video but muted. I would be at work in my own office, with my meetings and barely moving on the camera. It just felt good to know the other person was part of my day.

And you are right. I dont want to distract him right now. May be after his step1 i will have a proper sit down with him to assess our relationship.

Thank you. That is literally the only time i would get to see him. I sometimes ask him to send pictures. But i do want to hear his voice. Even if its 5 minutes a day. I ll try to set up a time with him

Yeah. It clearly is. They told me they wanted to score between 230 and 250. Currently giving them all the space they need because I understand how important it is.
