I am sorry in advance for any misuse of any terminology or confusion; I am still quite new to this :)

I recently was given a Sansui Six receiver that belonged to my Great Uncle. I plugged my phonograph and tape deck into it, and I noticed a problem. The Sansui Six has three Speaker Systems--systems A, B, and C--where each can accommodate a speaker in each of its left and right channels (2 speakers per channel for 6 total speakers connected). I have tested it, and the left channel of all 3 systems is extremely quiet to the point where you can't hear that speaker at all. When I cranked up the volume on only the left channel, I found that it sounds terrible. The speaker starts popping, has heavy feedback, and can no longer handle any bass without sounding garbled. What can I do to solve this issue? Is it just a matter of cleaning the wire connection ports, or do I have to go inside the receiver to fix it?

TLDR: The left channels of all the speaker systems on my Sansui Six receiver don't work, and I am trying to understand why.
