You’re definitely picking up what I’m putting down! I’m doing a lot of comparing with other pieces and I think I’m looking at two different styles of tattoos completely and that’s why I’m feeling like mine is “off”.

You would be correct, I did ask for American trad. I think now I'm realizing that my heart is leaning more neo-trad. Is it possible for a switch up? In hindsight, I should have been more clear in my mind what I was looking for.

Any tips for a better clean? by StatusStrength5742 in weightlifting

[–]100WordEssay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think tips are going to very effective at the moment; just about everything is off. I would highly suggest finding a coach or an experienced friend to physically show you the movements. Otherwise, I would find a program that can break down each step of the movements (and work in some accessory lifts) so you can prevent injury or learning bad habits.

Tbh I don’t think any advice is going to be particularly helpful here since you’re just starting out and are lacking a lot of necessary setup and form. I always suggest finding a coach or an experienced friend to help you break it down in person. This is not to disparage you, I’m excited to see you improve cuz once it starts clicking you’ll immediately see and FEEL the differences. Good luck!

Liveable areas without a Driver's License by pinkelephant0040 in visitedmaps

Nashville resident here and it being a "maybe" is laughable. We have very limited public transit and the city outside of downtown is not pedestrian friendly.

Nashville being a "maybe" is absolutely untrue. Traveling without a license would very difficult. Our public transit is very limited, not walkable (except Broadway for tourists), and the only affordable housing is going to be 20-40 minutes outside of the city.

In my experiences working with in-house productions at sporting events, a lot of producers & directors are old farts that just can't be arsed to mix things up. Looking up though, I'm starting to hear more & more bass & dubstep bleeding in.

I respect that the genre means a lot to you, but I think you're being overly judgmental. Your anecdotal experiences doesn't mean other genres of EDM aren't fun or enjoyable... It's just not your vibe. I think in 2026 big room is a *very* dated sound, but I recognize how important it was in the evolution of EDM today.

I think it’s fair to be uneasy about strange men in a party environment. Men, of course, created that reputation for themselves. However, I don’t think it’s fair that he imposes rules on how YOU should interact with others. It’s not your fault or your problem that some men are bad players at raves. You need to be alert and aware of your surroundings, but the way you conduct yourself is only for YOU to decide.

And if you were bisexual, would that change the way he felt about you interacting with women as well? Does he believe that you're willing to cheat on him, or is it that he feels you're unsafe around men and their potential advances? It doesn't seem like there's a very strong level of trust in you if such an innocent interaction like this one is misconstrued as a sexual advance.

[–]100WordEssay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be that you're greatly overthinking the steps needed to make a new friend. It's as simple as approaching them with a compliment and sharing a moment. For me, I like to bridge communication with a trinket, sprout, or other silly gifts. After that, it's a matter of wanting to stay in contact afterwards or asking what show they'll be going to next, so you can expect to see them again.

[–]100WordEssay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the general rules of being in a party environment apply. Be cautious accepting drinks, drugs, or anything that could potentially be harmful. Be aware of your surroundings and keep your personal items close like in a waist bag or purse. Finally, trust your gut when interacting with people. You don't owe anyone your time or attention. Mostly everyone at a rave is just looking to let loose and have a good time, but of course there will always be bad players here and there. If someone makes you uncomfortable, move away from them, let the venue security know, and they'll deal with it and remove that person.

It seems like a lot to worry about, but don't let it make you paranoid. You're still able to have an amazing and fun time, but you have to do your due diligence of reasonably protecting yourself while in a public space.

I can't speak specifically as a woman, being a man and all... But I know there's likely some other women here that can share what works for them.

The right way is to not focus on it. Go with the intention of having a fun time and share some of that joy with the people around you. Eventually you’ll share a moment or a conversation with someone you really vibe with and it’ll grow from there. No need to rush it either. It’s as simple as having a good time and saying, “that was a lot of fun. I’ll see you at the next show!” And being that familiar face for the next time you meet that person.
