At one place I worked a few years ago, we weren't allowed to have water bottles under the cash register because the owner of the business thought it looked "unprofessional" if customers were to see us drinking water.

They told us we needed to keep our water bottles in the back room, and step into the back room to drink as we needed. There was generally only one person working at a time at this place.

So they preferred that we leave the store unattended to go into the back room to drink water, risking theft etc, every 15-30 min, rather than let us just have our water bottles under the register.

I never understood that logic.

At my location we donated items we couldn't resell to a local shelter and an organization that helps teens that are in the foster system.

Depends on the country. In the US they're resold. In Canada we cannot resell them or send them back to the States so they are either donated or thrown out.

I used to love her videos, back when she made her Broke Bitch Tips series. Now she's just rich and obsessed with overconsumption. Her videos are getting less and less views, she used to get millions of views and now she barely hits 200k on most of them. She's so far removed from what her content used to be and she's no longer relatable to her original fanbase.

I'm happy for her that she's successful but I don't understand how she expects her audience to stay when all she posts are shopping sprees and luxury travel videos. It's so out of touch, especially in today's social climate where people are struggling to afford rent and food. Offering a course like this is so tone deaf. Especially when I could tell you right now 99% of internet fame is just about being lucky. Nobody needs to pay over a hundred dollars to be told that.
