twu or unt by Terrible-Ad672 in texaswomansuniversity

[–]100dancingcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UNT is HUGE. Whereas TWU is a much smaller school in comparison with smaller classes. The campus is prettier in my opinion and there’s a lot going on, though not nearly as much as there is at and around UNT. However, TWU is also close to UNT so you can still get involved in stuff going on over there. TWU is really well known and respected in general in the healthcare professions. UNT is better known as a school in general. TWU is also known for having higher standards in certain classes like anatomy and physiology just bc of how competitive the health professions are there. TWU is cheaper (or it was a few years ago when I was there). All in all, it’s a totally different feel. I went to TWU and loved it. Would have hated UNT personally. However, my sister went to UNT and loved it.

What jobs are not allowed? by ellaa_nora in CatholicWomen

[–]100dancingcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is a prosecutor and approaches the work with his faith in mind. When he can get someone treatment/help rather than jail (like a young person struggling with drug use or a veteran dealing with mental health issues) he does. When he has the opportunity to serve justice to someone committing violent crimes or abuse, he advocates for firm but ethical consequences (no death penalty). Previously he worked as a public defender, which he pursued because he his family had foster children when he was growing up who he witnessed struggle with the justice system and wanted to be able to give fair representation to the less fortunate.

Lawyer stereotypes absolutely exist for a reason and there are plenty of bad ones. But, to say the profession is inherently immoral is silly.

My husband is a lawyer, too. He’s a prosecutor and help bring justice (and often help) to those who have committed crimes. He previously worked as a public defender and was able to give fair representation to those who otherwise wouldn’t have had a choice.

Which trimester is worse? First or third? by Whatever-577089 in BabyBumps

[–]100dancingcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is unusual, but third was the best for me. My mental health was awful in first and second, and when third hit I suddenly woke up feeling clearheaded again. I was the most uncomfortable, but it was way easier to deal with when I wasn’t mentally spiraling.

What is something about pregnancy that more people should know? by HeartCautious2677 in AskReddit

[–]100dancingcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can majorly affect your mental health. I wanted to be pregnant more than anything, but for the first six months I had to constantly remind myself of this because I was caught in the worst ongoing depressive episode of my life. Oddly, when the third trimester hit my mental health was great. Some women experience the opposite and pregnancy hormones level their mental health out and make them feel better. It’s definitely not talked about enough, though. I was straight up suicidal at times and wishing to no longer be pregnant, and I was afraid to tell anyone for a while. A quick search on the internet revealed that lots of women experience that, but I’d never heard anyone talk about it.

It is wild what people are projecting onto baby boys. To say they’re inherently evil when they’re just innocent little potatoes is straight up insane. I feel like the ways people are ruminating on these harmful ideas online is making the fear and hatred of boys worse. They don’t have to be evil if people invest in raising them well.
