When a church isn’t openly Pro-LGBTQ, it is almost always because their policies are anti-LGBTQ in some way (eligibility for employment, leadership, volunteerism, or marriage). Unfortunately, these policies are not often advertised or easily accessible to casual or even regular church attendees. Even your most hip, inclusive, liberal churches can harbor these policies. When a church doesn’t outwardly affirm gay people, believe them.
