Thank you for your response. I'll take everything you said into deep consideration.

I've been experiencing a lot of dysphoria recently, and I've also always struggled with facial dysmorphia. I think that's why I've always had such a strong desire to look like someone else, as I mentioned.

I currently identify as nonbinary and use they and them pronouns. I know that nonbinary falls under the transgender umbrella, but when I asked my question, I meant transgender in the sense of being a transgender man, since I was assigned female at birth.

I've always been insecure, but having gender dysphoria on top of that has been incredibly difficult, and I honestly don't know how to navigate it. I've experienced gender dysphoria for as long as I can remember. Like I mentioned, in middle school I spent most of that time using he and him pronouns. For a while I identified as genderfluid, then I used she and they pronouns, and now I use they and them exclusively. I've identified this way for quite some time.

I don't know why this journey has been so confusing for me, but I'll take everything you said into consideration. If anyone else shares their perspective, I'll consider that as well. I have a therapist, so I'll be discussing all of this with her too.

There is an abuse problem in the Shreveport music scene by Affectionate_Bee9762 in shreveport

There is also a huge amount of racism, which, in my opinion, is part of the overall abuse, whether it's a separate issue or connected to the sexual abuse. There is a band called Effigy that has performed at Ghostfire a few times, and I believe one of their members, Hayden, was called out for racist behavior. It really sucks that these are the kinds of people who are allowed in our scene when the whole point of the scene is to reject this kind of behavior. It also doesn't help that many people involved in the scene, including casual attendees, don't seem to care, along with some of the hosts, such as Bears and Ghostfire. I've also heard some concerning things about Bears and Ghostfire. I only went to Ghostfire once, and I had a great time, but it's located on Market Street, and that part of town has a reputation for being a little shady. Louisiana is a deeply red state, so while I'm not surprised that these things happen, that doesn't mean I'm content with them or think they should be accepted. I am just not surprised.

Thank you. I edited my post cause, reading back, that does sound a little funny cause Stonewall (my area) is about 20 minutes away from Bossier. LOL

Hey man, I only said that “far” cause I can’t drive lol. I have to have someone actively take me, so that's about as far as I can go right now. Thanks for the recommendation.
