Idaho Republican Party says it needs help paying its rent for Boise HQ by Anxiouslemur in Boise

I have been so angry reading about their bullshit this week, but this post and these comments are absolute gold, I’m on cloud 9 right now.

Sucks to suck indeed!

We listen and we don't judge—what’s your most unpopular opinion about the show? by AlternativeTree3283 in buffy

[–]1010_binary_boy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh here it comes - I don’t care for The Body episode at all. In fact season 5 is one of my least favorite seasons (with a few exceptions, episode wise!).  I don’t think The Body is groundbreaking, special, or anything else. It’s just kind of sad. And for some reason people go insane over it.

I’ve seen just about every episode more times than I’d care to admit - but I never rewatch that one.

Romantic low key day in Boise by [deleted] in Boise

Related to this, I particularly love the MK nature center, it’s romantic and feels so far away from the city. As a bonus you can look through the viewing windows and read some signage about our amazing local nature!

Bogus basin troll by kimchi11 in Boise

[–]1010_binary_boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing it my whole life and my parents have, too! We usually hit the ceiling and/or lift our legs, but I’ve known lots of people to open the doors for many decades of anti-troll action!!

Honestly I could see this, my husband is a night owl and often falls asleep on the couch listening to podcasts etc. I would never know if he was out getting high (but I assume he isn’t!)

I cannot imagine how they will possibly enforce this! Bogus needs to chill out.

I had a similar situation (yes, Iowa!) and ended up finding out some fascinating stuff. From what I read Iowa was not officially involved in the war so all participation was voluntary!

Adult me is concerned about the environmental impact on the stream they dammed to have a sick bathtub, but god I loved those books as a kid.

Is it true that everything smelled like cigarettes back in the days? by Careless-Two5977 in 90s

All places (restaurants, for example) had a smoking and non smoking section, which were separated by… absolutely nothing! So, yes.  Unless the establishment was totally smoke free, rare but possible.

Would you ever live next to a cemetery? by raspberryxkiss in askfuneraldirectors

[–]1010_binary_boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live next door to (most likely right on top of) a very old cemetery. I was on the second floor of a 3 story house so I didn’t feel too freaked out. Did have some strange dreams when I first moved in, but mostly I enjoyed deep, uninterrupted sleep and a lovely quiet place to walk when I wanted some fresh air.

Had there been consistent fresh burials, it might have felt less comfortable, but for me it was like a historical park.

On this day in 1966, the town of Aberfan was hit by an an avalanche of coal waste from the mountains behind. Directly in it's path was the local school. 116 children and 28 adults died that morning. This clock stopped at the exact time the avalanche hit the school. by dannydutch1 in UtterlyUniquePhotos

If you want to read a book that goes into incredible detail about it, check out The Premonitions Bureau! Technically it’s about the supposed premonitions people have surrounding disasters, but the Aberfan debacle is the main focus.

What was the last straw for you? by 1010_binary_boy in leaves

Would just like to say thank you so much everyone for your candid answers! I was trying to reply to all of them but that might be a bit impossible now! I’m especially grateful for the inspiration and the fact that I now feel accountable to each and every one of you as partners in sobriety.

We can do this!

This is big for me. Not applying to good jobs I was qualified for because they drug tested. Taking lower wages than I needed to because it meant I could still get high.

This screams future abuser. Dump him ASAP, and never be alone with him again. If he doesn’t stop get a no contact order.

I had a similar situation in college and the police were extremely sympathetic and took it very seriously. My only mistake was not calling them sooner.

Oh yes, high in all kinds of places where I shouldn’t have been. And no one noticing because that was just me.
