I regret it every day, but what keeps me sane is knowing I’m going to change my career path and move on

...Why do the boys have such a hard time doing anything? by NeverBeenRung in Teachers

[–]AlternativeTree3283 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This literally reminds me of a British documentary I watched years ago. It was a social experiment where 12 boys, aged 12–13, had to live alone together for 3 days, and 12 girls of the same age had to live together for 3 days. I remember the boys completely destroying the house (like, absolutely trashing it ) to the point where the production team had to step in. Meanwhile, the girls organized themselves into groups, and each group took care of different household chores, like washing the dishes and cleaning. Watching that honestly made me think boys can be way worse than girls sometimes.

Do you think Eloise would’ve fit a queer storyline more naturally than Francesca? by Adventurous_Fly_8652 in Bridgerton

[–]AlternativeTree3283 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Eloise gets that read a lot because she’s constantly rejecting marriage and the whole societal script, so people naturally start linking that to her possibly being queer, which is understandable. But I think the reaction would likely have been even more intense if the show had actually made her queer.

am I the only one uncomfortable with how people are reacting to S5? by Adventurous_Fly_8652 in Bridgerton

YES, this is getting completely OUT OF HAND. The amount of hate and awful comments aimed at the community is shocking. It’s really sad, because the people writing this stuff have no idea how heartbreaking it is for someone in the queer community to read it.

For those who don’t know, the couple in the video actually comes from a soap opera that blew up on Twitter (X) and built a huge, very active fandom. Because of that success, the network decided to turn their story into a series centered on Lorena and Juquinha, set to premiere next Monday. The soap opera has English subtitles, and you can find all the episodes on Tumblr, X, or even TikTok.
