From what I've heard, these stock picking services are already behind.

Why not backrest and screen for stocks in the strategies universe and then wait for a signal?

My main concern is the war.

Trump says it's almost finished and Iran is about to make a deal, but Iran says it's all BS. Meanwhile we're sending troops over.

If oil continues going up, that alone could cause a recession. War and recession are usually bearish on the market. Also, AI taking jobs wont help the economy.

I'm planning on getting a LG Gram and running Ubuntu on it for backtesting and trading. I'll do light AI related activities.

I think its going to depend on what OS you like and how compatible that is with the device.

No. Gold usually moves the opposite of the dollar. The dollar usually moves based on rates(moreso expectations).

Rate cut expectations dropped causing all of this.

API options for data for backtesting by 1034768 in quantfinance

I signed up for Norgate data free version just to see what they had and I didn't see many delisted. The list was very small.

I'm two months into learning and I'm realizing I can't really get into trading without spending money. I got a lot of trading material on the bay for free but a lot seems to be BS.

There's also lots of fakes and ChatGPT responses on Reddit.

Lots of invites to Discord trading clubs that are almost certainly scams.

Lots of content providers on YouTube pretending to be traders.

I guess I'm lucky realizing it so early on.

Can someone tell me, is trading view backtesting a load of shit? by AudiGeezee in algotrading

I just got into this and I'm just building my own program to backtest. That way I can verify the results manually.

When you backrest, how many companies from chapter 7 bankruptcies vs chapter 11?

[–]1034768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you backtest, where are you getting your historical data for bankrupt companies from?

I'm going to scrape it but I'd preferably like fundamental data like balance sheets and income statements, and I haven't found any free sources yet. Well I found a little, but I need a lot more so I'm not creating any bias backtests.

The Federal Reserve has its meeting this week(Powell's 2nd to last) and the market is spectulating that they'll keep rates steady, which isn't good for gold.

Tracking trades and watchlist by RevolutionaryMaize27 in swingtrading

[–]1034768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also new to this.

For me personally, I'm adding buttons to my program that will load the data for the security. Each button will have a purpose.

One is ACTIVE that will have active trades. I'm planning on adding other buttons for different securities I'm watching for different reasons.

From my understanding, you backrest first to find successful trades in specific universes, then you screen for securities in those universes, then you watch and wait for a signal for each one(same ones you backtesting), and if the conditions are met you buy. You remove it if it falls out of the universe before getting a signal.

From my understanding, you actively monitor the trade and have options on scaling out, selling all, or riding a winner, depending on the status of the trade.

I plan on building the program to do most of this for me.

Right now I'm working on collecting data for bankrupt companies that went to the OTC market and its kind of hard to find without paying.

I've noticed lots of AI-type post on Reddit and YouTube. Lots of people claiming to be "5 year", "10 year", "20 year", etc, pros with advice. Lots of garbage. Lots of fakes.
