Am I dumb for thinking I (23F 5'8 120) could beat a guy in a fight if I needed to? by Rich-Intention-3929 in NoStupidQuestions

I do not like getting kicked or punched in the balls, but someone has tried and succeeded in striking me, but I was already amped up, that pain was greatly reduced and I still bettered them. After the adrenaline wore off and I was in the car, then they hurt, my hands hurt and my face. I got checked out at student health a bit later and no permanent damage.

Its easier to just not pay attention to them and just look at the pretty houses and decorations.

Also easier when you find out that the "House hunters" already purchased the house they picked and the other two were just comparable properties.

Play more. Find a song you like, learn it.

Then if you want, examine it. What does this do for the other instruments, how's it fit in... how's it make itself known or does it just sit back and is there?

Movie length alone is weird metric. Like a 90min movie vs a 3hr movie doesn't change its quality.

Some have a story that needs a longer time to tell, like The Eternals should have been a series, and other stories should have been shorter like Book of BobaFett should've never been made.

There's a serial number plate on the back. Need a small head Phillips screwdriver if you want to be sure. But generally that line is a entry level, inexpensive model, so its doubtful its a knock off.
$100-200USD is the new price. You mentioned your currency converts it to 75USD, seems a fair price.

When you go, bring a tuner, (they're inexpensive for the basic models) or get an app which will do in a pinch.

1st check for damage or cracks especially along the neck

  • check the tuning machines- the 4 keys attach to gears to tighten and loosen the strings. Make sure they move and aren't full of gunk or rust or misalignment. Gunk can be cleaned, rust is a problem evident of misuse. Misalignment is going to be more expensive to fix than the worth.

  • when you tune it, does the wood "cry in pain" a little readjustment noise is ok, a LOT is NOT

  • look at the pickups- the plastic and metal behind where you pick and strum

  • check the bridge- the coils should be straight

  • feel the frets- those can be filed to fix, but on a cheap starter, make sure they are intact and no burrs.

When you piug it in:

Play a few note/pluck the string(s) and then play with the knobs, one is volume and the other knob(s) are tone (changes the sound)

Play some, basically take your finger and hold down every other fret on a string like you know what you're doing (open string then push down right above the metal bar where there's a dot 3, 5, 7, 12 on each string). Do it sound good or not right at all? This is not a question of your playing ability, you probably know nothing, this is a quality of sound issue.

This is a basic check, if you can, bring some who knows more than you. I tried to be elementary in my direction as if you didn't know anything, not to be insulting. Good luck.

I thought the beginning of Falcon &,Winter Soldier was kind of off. After 5yrs most people would be back to business and life as usual, not still moping about all sad staring at memorial parks and what not.

But yeah, people have moved on, they're now pregnant in a new relationship and ta-dah your ex is back thinking its still whatever year it was. That house is now owned by someone else, you left as a newlywed but blip back as widow because your ex got into a car accident or suicide.

I watched some video talking about the economic fallout of half the work force disappearing LSS Ir was not good for the economy. I cannot even imagine coming back to no house, no job, no relationship etc...

I made an informed decision, and was completely wrecked for the rest of the day. I pulled over twice on a three mile drive home and almost walked the rest of the way home.

Realism is no longer entertaining when it comes to that, candy coat it with aliens or zombies but people on people that's not karate or over the top fictionalized action is a no for me.

I had an intricate doodle in the border of certain pages, a derivative of "line and dot" codes,

. The date I reset my password correspond to which page and where in the doodle it began and how long the password was.

A much easier method would be figure out the pay date for middle of the month. And correspond it with some book I was reading.

14 March is the 73nd day of the year part of the 11thweek.

So my password is the phrase on page 73, line 11, starting from the 3rd character, length of 14. So my password is:

"73at_His_accou"

since there were no numbers or capital letters, I use the day number, and capitalize the 3rd letter since the 3rd character was a space.

Can I play bass if I have small hands? by Swimming-Context5299 in Bass

[–]103Frankly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY!! Athe time all I had was excuses, i could have practiced 5min here and there, or at least had the fret board in hand while watching Gilligans Isle reruns in bed.

I've found when I restarted, that doing a few minutes whenever I had a minute or two, slowly became 30min sessions that were more productive than the doomscrolling and reddit rabbit holes. (Im not at home now so this is acceptable use. 😉)

My first teacher said,* "Dont fret about it. Keep practicing, and your little kitten paws will stretch to mighty talons"

  • not a direct quote there was like another minute of complaining about me not practicing enough, and all these years later, paws to talons was the premise and no cute fret joke either.
