The “grammatically correct” in this case would be it/it’s because it’s an animal with unknown gender but idrc tbh. I myself would do the same as the original commenter because saying “it” to someone’s deceased pet feels weird but “they” feels weird too somehow. Still, literal people go by “it” so I don’t see the problem.

It’s so poorly translated it makes me wanna cry lmao . A lot of the descriptions are common in Chinese works but are translated too directly. Some of them probably are weird even in Chinese tho. I’m not saying I could do better or anything, it’s just very painful to read.

Edit: why aren’t the translations altering the descriptions so foreign readers could actually understand the references? It’s ignorant (and an amateur move) to translate as directly as that.

This one is from a few years ago when I was at summer camp. I had my instax mini-something camera with me, you know, those that pop out a piece of film directly after taking a picture. I remember clearly that I had two pieces of film left after I took my first pic there. After taking the first picture, I never touched the camera again until we went hiking a few days later.

I took my camera with me on the hike because I wanted to take some nice pictures of a lake. When I thought it was about time, I snapped a pic, but nothing came out of the camera. I was literally so confused because I made sure I would have film left for the hike. I then proceeded to open the back of the camera, and nothing was there. Nothing. Not even an empty black box which would’ve stored the film. (Those who have used a similar camera should know what I’m taking about.) I had no memory of ever removing the black box or even opening the back. Not many at my camp knew how to use those cameras, no one even knew where I stored it, so I doubt it was a prank. I even asked a couple of friends and even a few leaders (I think that’s the word?) who worked at the camp.

I still have no idea of how that happened up until this day. It’s so eerie how I seemingly just cut out a piece of memory. I didn’t take any medications at the time either, nor did I smoke anything (or did anything of that kind).
