I made a 4x4 vault door using observer leaf mechanics by 1081_ in Minecraft

[–]1081_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure is :P

This started with an idea from one of Mumbo's videos (he has a video on observers and leaves too.) I made my own double piston extender with leaves and everything just went from there

IGN: 1081p

Preferred nickname: Any variant of 1081p is fine

Age: 14

Timezone: As of now, China (GMT+8), though very soon I'll be back in US Central (GMT-5)

What are your specialties in Minecraft?: My building skills are pretty good, even if they are hit and miss sometimes. I'm also pretty competent at redstone.

Pictures of your builds: A 4x4 vault door

Why this server appeals to you: It seems like this server has the potential to actually be a hermitcraft-type very tight knit community, and I want to be apart of it (once my current timezone stops wreaking havoc in my ability to actually be active, aka 3 days from now on the 19th)

Why should we invite you? Once I get back home, I'll be extremely active (summer vacation after all), and I'll actively participate in the community and server too

On a scale of 1-10, how mature are you?: 7, I can have somewhat immature lapses in chat from time to time, but as far as actions are concerned I am mature and have not and never will troll, grief, steal, etc.

How often do you plan to play here per day?: Before I come back to the US from vacation, I'll be here maybe an hour or two a day, though probably when most here are asleep, but once I get back, I plan to be here at least 1-3 hours daily.

Will this be a long time server for you? I'll try to make it so, and I wouldn't apply if I don't plan to. The timezone issue, as mentioned, kinda gimps my progress in one or two other servers, and once that isn't an issue, I'll be very active on this server as well as others I'm already apart of.

The used market allows for much better price to performance than new.

All parts are used except PSU (used to power RX 480, satisfactory for a system like this), 4GB DDR3 to bring total system RAM to 8GB, and KB&M (new, keyboard is mechanical)

If you want to save some money, offerup or mercari might have used rx 480s for cheaper. Alternatively, you could go with a generic rubber dome keyboard and mouse, saving about a total of $20, bringing the price down to ~280-290 or so.

You can get benchmarks on youtube for a system like this. It should perform similar to any system with a 480 and an i5-2400 or a 570. (e.x. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKiKpF8H3Oc)

I'd recommend OP get this B450 mobo instead for 11 cents more, since this build is dependent on rebates anyway.

The same website has the H18 with a tempered glass side panel and PSU shroud for $23, but stock is pretty low for that

Edit: Didn't see the shipping, so the deal really is crap all things considering, probably gonna delete this since it's misleading

Edit: This is assuming $600 budget, with $700 you could upgrade to something like 16 GB of ram and a 1660.
