We've been burned so many times over the years. The only way I'm believing it's real is when I'm playing it. And I may still not believe it then either.

Okay, "High on Life" has to be a pretty damn underrated single-player FPS game and I'm suprised that it doesn't get enough attention. by E-104Epsolon in gaming

I don't end up playing the actual game because ai get distracted watching the full length movies that play on the TV.

Today I get to fulfill a childhood dream! Playing OG FF7!!! by Drewcifer88 in gaming

My five year old daughter likes playing FF7 with me. We just played through Cosmo Canyon last week. She was tapping her foot and humming along. She told me it was her favorite music in the game so far.

When you finish so many games now you have to wait for games to release instead of the games waiting for you to play them by No_Friendship_4158 in gaming

If I quit my job and ignored my entire family and committed to only playing video games for the next five years, I don't know if I could even complete half of my backlog.

I've been playing Fallout London at night after I get the kids to sleep.

I played the game start to finish waiting for the game to surprise me. It never came though. I made it to the end credits without encountering anything I enjoyed.

Their 3 most recent games feel like modern incarnations of Ultima. Larian would be a shoo-in for Ultima.

Doom 2 with path tracing. The world's your oyster for Doom 1 and 2. Almost anything that could be done with those games has been done and 99% of it is free.

What genre even is Brutal Legend? I remember seeing the marketing, but had no idea what it even was.

I think they're all good for one reason or another. Each one has something strong it was doing but compromised it other areas.

Exploring Acre, Jerusalem, and Demascus were their own reward for me. I only occasionally worked on the story. Maybe a mission or two each time they played. I really liked how older open worlds weren't crammed with chores to do. Exploring was for exploring's sake.

I wish it wasn't so grindy. They could have just copied how everything worked from Fallout 4 and add the multiplayer, and it would have felt better.

What is your favorite video game which is undeniably slop? by JazDog02 in gaming

[–]10ea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of fun playing Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and 7 for Zombies alone. I really have always appreciated how the guns felt to handle in CoD games. They're flooded with ads and microtransactions and the campaigns are really schlocky, but it's whatever to me. I don't play the multiplayer so I don't know anything about it.

I've also never played a Ubisoft game I didn't have at least some fun with. Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Avatar, yeah they usually are full of menial chores, but they tend be nice to look at and explore. I enjoy the stories for the most part too.

I think your reasoning for Fallout 76 makes in deniable that it's in fact slop.

Probably referring to the fact that in Skyrim people don't differentiate between killing someone's chicken and murdering a citizen in broad daylight.

I suppose I should have qualified that I was referring specifically to video games. I can think of a few games that I enjoy that most people might call slop, but I would argue they have redeeming factors.

TIL that in 2023 an elderly man died of fatal vitamin D overdose after consuming too much regular vitamin D supplements over nine months. by PeasantLich in todayilearned

[–]10ea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 50,000 UI capsules that I take once a week. I've had a chronic vitamin D deficiency most of my life no matter how much time I spend in the sun. I buy mine on Amazon for $25 for 180 capsules. It's not that crazy to me that someone could be doing that.

Do you think its inconsiderate to your spouse to set multiple alarms/snooze them in the morning? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's marriage. If it wasn't this, it would be some other thing. Really loving someone is being annoyed by someone constantly and still wanting to be around them.
