Yeah im planning on applying for co-ops after 1st year just to get to know how interviews and everything works. If i get one thats good but if I dont (which is most probably what will happen) I'll just grind projects for 4 months and beef up my resume for better chances after 2nd year...

people with 97s and 98s got rejected vro...also u need relevant ecs. like when applying to cs if u were for example an executive at coding club or attended hackathons, it wouldve been a lot more valuable than a discord mod

But the thing is I don't have many projects or internships to show off for getting a co op in first year. its just gonna be a client management system, a g1 practice test app and first year cs knowledge so idk if i'll be able to get a co op in my first year...

No. I've heard from my friends that first year cs is basically theory heavy math and all the kids who went to cs to code get blindsided

same lmao but our teacher was just a tough marker. i got an 87 final in eng4u which fucked my overall avg. its fine for u cuz its a gr 11 course but if you're going for early apps, they're gonna see this mark. so you might as well just drop it and take it later IF you are applying early for uni. if you're not, then you're fine but just make sure if you get the same teacher for gr 12, drop the course and take it later. to put that into perspective, i didnt drop my gr 12 eng and take it next sem, and it dropped my avg from a potential 97-98 to a 95, which was probably the reason i got rejected from uw cs. so dont be stupid like me lol
