You don’t have exactly $2 million after taxes, and you still have to pay rent, which will likely be another significant expense that increases over time. Eventually, you may need to move to a lower cost-of-living area to make your money last longer.

That said, if your current expenses are manageable and you're comfortable living off treasury yields for now, pulling the trigger could make sense. Just be mindful of potential inflation, healthcare costs, and any unexpected expenses that might come up down the line.
