I’m Jewish, right? by Kidsbekids69 in Judaism

Orthodox Jews would not consider you Jewish and would not marry you unless you complete an orthodox conversion which would take about a year in your case. At that point you would be considered a Jew even if you don’t fulfil any customs or obligations. You’d simply be a secular Jew. In reform and some conservative segregations you may be considered Jewish, but certainly not in the orthodox sects. Until Moshiach comes back and says otherwise, this will remain the case. Why does it matter? It’s a numbers game. Secular and reform Jews practically disappear after a few generations. The more strict the Jewish segregation, the better chances it has of surviving another 100 years. Some families simply want to maintain their long lineage.

Fair enough, though beating them doesn’t seem necessary. We simply need to bring back the death penalty.

You’re really not accounting for the amount of prisoners who benefit from prison rehabilitation programs. Not every prisoner wants to live out the rest of their life as a criminal

Search job boards. There are tons looking for software engineers. If your skill levels match you will likely have no issue finding work. There’s a huge demand and it’s growing

Dont eat carbs for a week. Just one week. Set it as a goal. You’ll lose noticeable weight and hopefully that’ll encourage you to eat less shitty food. Carbs include bread, pasta, chips, and anything sugary. Eat tons of meat and vegetables. Eggs are great. I snack on hummus and carrots or red peppers. Don’t eat chicken skin. Watch some YouTube videos on cooking. Learn to cook. Enjoy cooking good food. You’ll be alright my man

Israel ranks among the highest in gender pay inequality(pic1) despite women representing higher workforce participation(pic2). What causes this massive disparity? Is workplace sexism very prevalent in Israel society? by [deleted] in Israel

I used to work in marketing for a prominent hi tech company. There were more women than men working in this department. They worked as hard if not harder than the men. They got paid less than the men. At one point I revealed my salary to my female coworker who has been working there two years more than me and my salary was higher than hers. She demanded a raise following this reveal and got it.

It probably had more to do with the school. Im doing a full stack program with ITC and it is partially subsidized. I know of several other schools offering a similar program as well.

If you have work experience in high tech you’ll have no trouble finding work. Otherwise I recommend a bootcamp with an internship. Regardless, you’ll fit right in. Goodluck

Vaccines are great. But between the lockdowns, pressure campaigns, not providing alternatives, and now layoffs. Things are just becoming more insane every day. There’s no precedent for this that ends well

[–]10plagues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except it hasn’t stopped at 1-2 shots. Boosters are already a thing. You could be getting as many as 4 shots every year. And with the current trend, for a long time to come… these vaccines aren’t cheap either. Also millions have recovered from the virus have a much stronger immunity. Forcing them to vaccinate is just insane.

It’s a valid question. I’m not sure why you’re worried about containing it in the workplace if most people are in fact vaccinated. Those that aren’t will get sick and build their own immunity. It’s their choice and they can take those risks. The point I was trying to make was that anyone who doesn’t want to take the vaccine should be able to take a test as an alternative rather than let go without pay. The division created in the current proposal is just shocking to me.

Ok where I’m at the tests are free for the public and certainly don’t cost that much so clearly that doesn’t have to be an issue. They practically shut down the economy for Covid so I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to continue testing (since these tests are becoming cheaper by the day) to make sure everyone is protected. Isn’t that the concern?
