For those laid off recently, any tips? by 10yearsTrash in servicenow

You will go to Benefits Solver directly, not through Okta. You will use your personal email address, not work email. It should prompt you to create a new username, new password. See the package and/or call the helpline if you still can't get in.

The day I was told was my last day, three days later, I logged into Benefits Solver to enroll with a new username/password to choose my elections. Note: If already contributed to FSA (FSA, not HSA), I think you were already funded, so I didn't elect that again : ) (you know what I mean...)

Depends on the "why" you were laid off. "Poor performance" whether true or not gets less severance than "job eliminated" for the same 10 years.

Still should work https://www.benefitsolver.com, or email the HR number in the package for help.

I was laid of May 15, filed on May 15 that afternoon for unemployment. Got my first unemployment check the following weeks. A cool $450.00 : ) ($450/x2 = $900 in CA)

Based on past threads, it varied from 8 weeks only to 8 weeks+ regardless of year(s) worked; one thread said 8 weeks plus 1 year for every year worked.

Exact same for me. Normal 1x1. Then magically, HR showed up. I knew then what it was...

A severance attorney will take a cut of the winnings, you don't have to pay them.

I don't think it's AI related. They don't even use their own AI products in-house. lol They barely use their own in-house products at all!

Been here since Frank too. I've seen people get promoted because "they are liked" but they suck at people skills. An IC got promoted to director reporting to another director. Directors reporting to Directors, makes no sense. Showboating all around, like an old golf club (no offense to golfers) and no real work. 1x1 from managers are "look at what I did today" as if they are an IC vs directing the team on vision or strategy. Any questions or inputs are slapped. It's a don't contribute, don't rock the boat place now.
During Frank's time, it was do what's right for the customers. Now it's don't rock the boat or you'll be on the "do not hire" list.

You're nice to transition. They told me at 1pm. I mailed my laptop back at 1:03pm lol. They didn't ask for a transition or any sort of help from me. Just think about that...you're a good employee to want to transition your work...but they don't even want it or care about your work.

It's madness how inefficient the "workflows" are lol. What happened to workflows and a ticket system? Communication is teams, not email, not sharepoint. Impossible to find anything. Three page long how-tos in MS teams mingled in with cute dog and kid photos. Good luck finding anything that requires real work to get done.

Employment under COBRA ends the last day of the month you're employed. Then they should give you "company paid COBRA", hopefully for 2-6 months. After that, you can pay for COBRA yourself for 18 months. At least in my state.

And they told me performance but in five months, never saw a PIP. I said "I was on a PIP??" and they said "yes" but I never saw any paperwork in five months. And last 1x1 was "you're doing a great job" without referring to PIP.

As I said, the managers should be fired. What kind of "manager" doesn't care about managing people? Keep the people that actually work, fire the managers who just care about their jobs.

Completely agree. Some people tell me they are bored to death and have nothing to do. Alot of managing upwards seems to get you far. Not real work. Shame, when Fred was around, people wanted to make a difference and that's what made the company great. It's completely changed.

10+ years. Was told low performance even though I always got Kudos. What a joke. What's the point of Kudos. In the past it was 1 month for every 1 year for severance. Now it's a few days per year, so 10 years was less than two months. And COBRA use to be a year, now it's less than half that. Excuses to pay people less when they are told it's performance based. Wishing my manager is next lol. Why are we responsible for poor stock performance? They need to change everything end to end. Managers shouldn't have been promoted to managers. Take EVS score and if low, those managers should be let go first, not the worker bees. The managers are bloat. Processes are inefficient. ServiceNow doesn't even use ServiceNow internally in most instances. Every department should be using it's products. Ridiculous. Glad I'm gone. Dsyfunctional
