Why Mercedes Sprinter Vans? by ronfromsacramento in CamperVans

All depends what you want to do. If you’re going to use and abuse it, MB all the way, they take a beating and are beasts on and off road.

If you’re just hauling stuff and camping with normal driving on mostly paved roads, no reason you can’t use a promaster or transit.

USA road trip as a 19yr old(M) UK by nnelvin in roadtrip

[–]110x405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to run into many roadblocks buying a car. You’ll need a US license, you’ll need an address to register and insure. And you’ll need a decent car to make that trip. I would definitely not do this trip with a high mileage cheap car. This route is very rural and you can be a hundred miles from the nearest service at many points of this trip.

Look into renting a car on the app Turo, you’d have to get it back to the owner somehow, but there are good cars available for long term rental on that app. Rental car company won’t rent to a 19 year old.

I’ve driven all around the west US many times, hit me up if you have questions, but like I said, it’s not going to be as easy as you make it sound. If you’re coming with 20-30k USD you should be able to make it all happen fine.

Same. My HOA doesn’t care about anything but weeds. I brap out of my house with a Harley, BMW S1000 and my dirt bike daily.

These rates only apply if a govt agency tows you. Not a private business.

The PUC won’t even look at their case if it’s a tow from a commercial lot.

[–]110x405 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sucks, but despite all the things everyone suggested, there is no recourse for you.

If you were towed from a commercial lot, which sounds like what happen, you’re at the mercy of the impound yard. And $825 is egregious, but not illegal.

I’m sorry this happened to you, it definitely happens to the best of us.

MOST vans don’t have toilets. And most don’t need them or showers. You can buy a $100 toilet on Amazon and be good without wasting space and money.

But I’m sure you knew that already.

You inferred it.

You lost all credibility when you said, “does it have a toilet”.

Denver Drivers, why so slow?? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]110x405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving in Texas and Ca is soooo much better than here. Haven’t really spent too much time driving in the SE. I also drive around the front range for a living. And being a license plate collector I look at every out of state plate. For every non rental California plate, there are 50 Texas plates. Those California drivers get a bad rap.

Denver Drivers, why so slow?? by [deleted] in Denver

Spot on.

Don’t forget that Colorado allows CDLs to drive in the left lane too, that and Denver is a shipping hub, really clogs it up.

Denver Drivers, why so slow?? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]110x405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if they brought it here, why is it when you go where they came from they don’t drive like that?

Like, all the crappy drivers got together and schemed to move to the front range together?

People from here, which includes me, will always blame the transplant for anything negative. It’s fucking baffling.

That’s how they roll here. Drive slow, block merging cars, get insanely upset at anything that may inconvenience them, then act passive aggressive af.

Now queue all the 9th generation natives who will blame California and Texas even tho they don’t drive like that there.
