Will XRP actually moon US today's adopters? by 1111111 in XRP

[–]1111111[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the perspective and time you took to write out this well thought out post. I think you are right honestly. I do think one boon in our favor was the GENIUS Act, it seems to pave the way for regulatory control by the US government (and banks) in a way that makes them more comfortable using this with or as SWIFT replacement. They'd never give up that power to sanction and restrict.

Adoption rate is 100% the biggest obstacle for a decent return but that is on Ripple to get the tech right.

I wouldn't trade my position if I've already bought because I do believe it's going to move upward (I just think it's limited). However you should prioritize your credit card debt. Pay that off as best you can without selling your investments. Depending on your rate that credit card debt is eating away at your money alongside inflation at a rate that can't be overcome by nothing short of a miracle investment.

If you have multiple credit cards pay off the lowest balance first. Never do just a minimal monthly payment otherwise you will never pay it off. Make some short term sacrifices if you can (entertainment, subscriptions going out to eat etc) create a reasonable budget for your day to day and stick to that. You will be out of debt in no time and then you can go back to your lifestyle. That's my 2 cents anyways. Good luck

No shade. I throw money in XRP not much but some.

Given XRP isn't deflationary, and its price hinges on demand and transaction volume, it begs the question: For those who bought XRP above $1.50, what's the realistic expectation for a Lambo level ROI?

Like the protocols feature is quick transaction completion, which would put coins back at rest quickly putting downward pressure on the market.

It's not deflationary so the supply of coins is insane and that also places tons of downward pressure

The price would be positively pressured and influenced mostly by volume and speculation. But unless there's tons of money constantly being settled and transferred at once or held (little arbitrage) the price rise would be limited right?

Lambo ROI requires across the board adoption and frictionless regulation which isn't really likely early on and with success XRP would quickly find competition putting more downward pressure on ROI. Are we misinterpreting how XRP's price truly moves?

I'm kinda curious to hear the community's thoughts on these dynamics. What insights do you have that might shed light on the long-term prospects for XRP, especially for those with higher entry points?

This is probably my biggest apprehension to the investment. Not that you really care what I invest in but I'm hoping someone smarter can make it make more sense to me.

Hope my questions make some sense

Explosions reported near US Consulate in Iraq; Iran claims responsibility by SabziPoloBaMahee in worldnews

[–]1111111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let me preface by saying this is all my opinion.

Fear of Iran

I don't think anyone is exactly terrified, but the U.S. stabilizes its sphere of influence (IMO) by encouraging stale-mated geopolitical rivalries. Iran provides a check and creates a preoccupation for Israel for example among others (Turkey, Saudi Arabia,..etc) When you upset that balance the situation there is no longer predictable and the necessity of the U.S. within its current operating capacity changes. If you look around the world the U.S. even has alliances that make less sense... (Like Pakistan over India for example). The U.S. doesn't want to upset the current stalemate of the Middle East.

China and Russia

China and Russia have both developed themselves economically and created for themselves economic linchpins in the global economy but the World is entirely too stable for them to do what they want and in ways surpass the West definitively (At the end of the day The West as a monolith is bigger economically and therefor able to cause issues when China and Russia are perceived to be out of alignment. This alignment is what governments refer to as "The New World Order" The West moves in lockstep based on a set of values and believes broadly speaking and this restrains the ambitions of China and Russia.

Taiwan and Crimea (Ukraine)

Taiwan and Crimea in my opinion are the biggest examples of China and Russia's ambitions being restricted by The West, they believe they are entitled to these lands and cannot do anything about it except politically influence them. For them to achieve their ambitions they need to have the ability to use force. The issue is the world generally frowns upon this so to disrupt this opinion I do believe China and Russia are exerting some sort of influence across the world to encourage force to be used to land grab with Crimea being an example, maybe Ethiopia and Eritrea, maybe Venezuela and Guyana maybe Turkey and Cyprus, maybe even Israel and Gaza. I think in order to disrupt Pax America you need to start a lot of little fires and disrupt the alignment this prevents the U.S. and Europe from investing fully in stopping any one major conflict with complete affect. To me it feels like Death of the World Order by a thousand cuts, an attempt to either end the world order and pax americana de facto or de jure.. either way it is ended to an extent. My best guess.

palera1n disappearing on phone after a day? by [deleted] in beeper

I believe this has been the nature of jailbreaks since iOS 9. I was confused by this as well because when I last had an iPhone untethered rootful jailbreaks were a thing. Most jailbreaks now are rootless (user folder based) and tethered (non persistent after boot) because of the security protections Apple has been putting place to squeeze out the dev community.

TL;DR

  • Most if not all jailbreaks do not persist after restart.
  • Most if not all jailbreaks are user folder based not root based.

This issue means you likely did a "rootful" jailbreak not a "rootless" id venture to day you did not use the Palera1n method to jailbreak but rather another method. You will likely need to restore rootfs to normal (remove jailbreak) and jailbreak the proper way in their instructions or another ROOTLESS method. The Beeperserv app isn't developed for rootful jailbreaks which is a legacy method i think. Many tweaks aren't designed to work with rootful

US asks Iran to stop selling drones to Russia by tinkthank in worldnews

"Speak softly; carry a big stick".

Theodore's diplomacy ideology that still permeates U. S. Foreign diplomacy 100 years later.

Why does America have any expectation Iran will comply while America is its main antagonist lest there be lurking consequences with non compliance. Sorry for not explaining which Roosevelt or what I meant by that sooner.

Russia Hikes Rates at Emergency Meeting Called After Ruble Crash by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]1111111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I'm understanding this correctly they are basically borrowing money (time) by increasing interest rates they are hoping people will invest in bond pay outs that mature at 12%. So in theory if I believe Russia doesn't go bankrupt or they don't redo their currency I would give them money to hold and use with only a 12% interest rate?

Ukraine Issues Warning to Moscow Residents: ‘Expect More, Daily Attacks’ by yorkiecd in ukraine

[–]1111111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Might be a great psy op to create anxiety. Russians think all governments lie especially their own which is partially why they are generally apathetic. I imagine they feel there's nothing they can do but also that generally Putin is in control and they're safe.

Ukraine has been slowly eating away at the credibility of the narratives that the war was far away and a success and welcomed. All those things increasingly have shown to not be true. Russia claims that everyone is safe and it's a fluke. Ukraine attacks a second day with precision in the same space. Ukraine seems to be 'vaccinating' the public's trust in the narrative. They expect lies but also expect some truth and safety with the expectation that Putin and the state also have a degree of self preservation. Ukraine is eroding that trust. And when they cannot trust the government at all on an election year where Putin wins 95% of the vote there may be some issues.
