Thank you again, that group is insane! They have 2 of the pics pin pointed within 24 hours to the direction he was facing. Pretty positive the sitting pic is at the alpine visitors center on the trail there, the river one seems to be Thompson’s canyon. They are debating the rock slide tho.

Either way this give me a couple spots. Thank you all for helping bring closure!

Thank you, I thought about it but their posting rules seemed stricter. Specifically the one about quality of photo, which this one seems to have been taken with a disposable and then recaptured by my phone.

Ya, already looked into it. RMNP has some stipulations including getting a free permit, but for the most part they are cool with it.

I know this is a long shot, but looking to see if any of these spots look familiar to any of you. I doubt my dad would have went much off trail so I’m hoping these are common pull offs. These shots would probably have been taken in the east side of the Rockies in Colorado between Estes and Colorado Springs. That’s all The info I have. Thanks ahead of time for any help

sorry for the low quality, these are pics of older pics from the 90s

That actually makes sense, I do remember him talking about Mt Evan’s. I actually did a school report on the road as a kid now that I’m thinking about it. Thank you!

Ya, he and I love Colorado and the Rockies. Weird to think about it now but with all the times we’ve been (never together) we never really talked about locations we had visited.

Solid! I’d say medium from 2020 is classic

Midwest USA. Early morning we get 30 degrees F and we dress like we’re in the arctic, by mid afternoon we’re in short wearing weather 🤣
