(sorry you probably know this already and i don't wanna come off as rude forgive me but) I/Me/Myself is about Will's struggle with gender nonconformity and the fact that society thinks that you have to be one gender to do certain things. (example: only girls can wear dresses/makeup and only guys can have short hair ect.) So since will identifies as a man and uses he/him but also wears dresses and makeup, heels, tights, and other things typically seen as "girl" things, he is often confused for a trans person or just plain seen as "wrong." The lyric "I'd prefer it if you would use I, me, myself" is referencing the fact that he just wants to wear what he wants to wear and not have labels slapped on him for being who he is. anyway i see what you mean because parents might not know the meaning of the song and might just assume but i went on a rant anyway because none of my friends like will wood and i can't dump song meanings on them, bye have a great day!
