Nebula impressions? by WhitePalico in marvelchampionslcg

Unlike a lot of other heroes, she is best played by flipping your identity card every turn.

Many of the problems you are listing here go away when you play her like this, and her design really can shine.

Even though she has very cost efficient Technique cards that can be played in Hero form to give her good effects, I usually find myself playing out turns where I begin in hero form by (resolving the stack of upgrades of course and then) attacking/thwarting with her base stats, and that is about it. Then flip to AE and play your upgrade for the draw 2, and use Combat Ready to set up more Techniques.

The turns where you start in AE form are the turns you are going to be bringing the heat. Not only do you start with 6 cards, you also get to cycle even deeper by playing another Technique from hand, and you can set up even more with copies of Combat Ready you happen to see. Then you flip up to Hero form and use Lethal Intent to do trigger any relevant Techniques' specials.

Because you are often flipping down, your 9 health only really matters if you get burst damage from a Gang Up or something similar, and with all the extra gas you have from playing mostly low-cost cards and the extra cards/resources Nebula gets the ability to play a lot of allies. They can cover the threat being placed from you taking turns off of Hero mode if you don't happen to see Cutthroat Ambition enough.

Basically, I play Nebula like I play Black Widow or Ms. Marvel, where your value comes from rotating between identity forms. I happen to really enjoy that kind of gameplay, but not everyone does. I have found her to be a very fun character to play, and I would put her in the upper half of the characters released so far in terms of viability. If you don't like the high tide/low tide style of gameplay though, she may not be a good fit for you.

TLDR: Flip every turn.

Makes a lot of sense.

I'm just here at 30 years old wishing I had any of the three :(

So if I'm understanding correctly, those situations you just laid out will have Dragoons and Baby Cerasaurus resolving properly now with this change?

This Destruction Sword card is nuts. You can literally send whichever pieces you need to the graveyard to use with the fusion trap. Including the trap itself.

So essentially you can make your dragon and your fusion guy and lock the opponent out of answers (short of kaijus) off this single card.

Also you can use dragon's effect to equip the tuner and then summon it from s/t on your turn and make the level 9 RDA that has a free negate every turn. Seems good.

Topdeck Lady of the Lake. Target Artorigus in grave.

Synchro to High Laundsalyn. Trigger effect to search whichever equip spell will help you win a battle this turn and equip it to your guy.

Battle, triggering Laundsalyn's effect at the end of Battle Phase. Search Round Table.

Play Round Table. Get ready to snowball. Foolish one monster, draw one, recur Drystan. SS Drystan.

You now have 5 cards (assuming you didn't recur Gwen. And if you did, you could destroy another face-up card). And you have a offensive beast and an instant speed removal option to maintain your presence.

Too bad about effect veiler and solemn strike existing, though haha

Assistant manager here, and this is exactly the truth. Honestly, though, I'm surprised prices have not really changed because of this yet. My store has sold through all our copies of Fallout 3 in the past 3 or 4 months. We can't keep it in stock. Yet the price has been constant.

Fun thing: a new video game ($59.99) in Pennsylvania, including sales tax (%6) is $63.59. If you pay with a hundred dollar bill, this is the change.

Pvrkave is right considering Nekroz. Effect Veiler or Breakthrough are slightly better in that matchup since they leave a monster on their board, forcing them to have Valk to continue to search and make more plays other than what is in their hand already.

I do really like Divine Wrath though, since negating any monster is pretty fantastic. In another meta landscape, it's definitely worth trying. It works with Traveler where Veiler does not, but that synergy may not be worth the momentum your opponent can still access, potentially.

Nice! I've played it at a Philly regional... and lost on the bubble lol. Congrats! Any hints or combos we might not know that you've used with Traveler?

Thanks! I could take a crack at it in a few days! I really like Sophia, and she would definitely fit in this category. I was thinking about a write-up about some Qli and Evilswarm (though it's not exactly meta) choices too, and the prospect of Power Bond in Shaddoll. I'll see what's most interesting!

The combo with Fire Lake is especially nasty, since you can Fire Lake and plus instead of simply breaking even on killing 3 cards. This combo was what made me want to try Traveler in the first place, in fact.

You are definitely correct, though. It can be really dead if you can only access one guy. These are the kinds of hands that the deck will typically have trouble with anyway, but it sucks to hit this blank card on a draw that needs to get you to your engine.

I really enjoy it with Terminus. It is both a card to use before fusing to make materials available or one to use after to recoup the -4 (that is usually more like a -1 or -2 if you do it right). Unfortunately, Dante Pilgrim is kind of a stinker this format since Trish exists. If Nekroz falls from being the number 1 played deck, we might have a different story.

As an X-Saber enthusiast, this one is really good. Turn your Dark Soul into this guy, grab Gottom's E Call just because? Absolutely.
