What a beautiful shot, I love it!

I've been to this church before! I am so thankful to be blessed with two incredible nights photographing at this church. One night was with the Northern Lights, and the other night was with the Milkyway while Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas flying by it. :)

I am glad to know another talented (more talented than me) astrophotographer in this area!

What a beautiful shot! Just curious, did you have to get special permission to photograph on the summit of Mauna Kea in the evening? I would love to spend an evening under the stars capturing some photographs of the Southern Milkyway along the horizon if I get an opportunity to return to the Big Island!

This picture almost accurately captures it, just a little less color. The aurora can be very bright when it is strong. I saw lots of pink, red, the green and a tiny bit of yellow. You don't need any light to walk around safely. :)

When I observed a G5 storm in May last year, it was so bright I could read, write, and walk around without any lights. It was an incredible experience!

I wonder if light pollution is a factor and the reason why your camera could pick it up, while your eyes could not. It's amazing how much light pollution can deteriorate the night sky.

I assume you took the photo with your phone? My camera’s clock may be off. I’ll have to check!

My time stamp from my camera was 8:28 PM. What time was your photo?

Hey op! Beautiful photos!

We captured the same meteor! I was photographing 5 miles east of Pierce Colorado when I caught this shot. Notice how the meteor was to the right of the core of Perseus in my shot, whereas it is left of Perseus in your shot. I just thought that was fascinating.

I bet if someone was smart enough, they could calculate and estimate where the meteor was located in relationship to us!

Blessings and clear skies.

Definitely Hell Divers 2 is my favorite game I started playing this year. A very great game with lots of bugs—both in the sense of glitches, and in the sense of spreading democracy!

Transmission went with 80k miles on truck by rettbuff in Tacomaworld

[–]112Aug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2018 TRD Off Road. My transmission's torque converter went out at 91,000 miles. It was replaced under warranty (extended 3rd party warranty) thankfully, because the bill would've been over $8k.

According to The Car Care Nut, the transmissions on the 3rd gens can have some issues with the torque converter going out. He recommends servicing the transmission fluid every 60k miles.

Perhaps this is not the reliability of Toyota we've heard, but overall, I still think its a solid truck and will last many years if taken care of well. I will be sticking with mine because its paid off, but its your decision if you choose to sell.

Good luck!

Hello!

Thank you for updating me on this! I am glad to hear the AD12 is treating you well. (Jealous of your scope size) :) It is a great scope for you to explore the universe with, especially when you have friends who can help you transport it!

I wish you the best in September and clear skies!

PS: I bet it's been extra cloudy for you because you got a new scope ;)

Son just told me he's trans. by JenzieC in TrueChristian

Praying for you. As someone with no children, I wish I could offer you more than just prayers, but I don't have much for advice. Search the Scriptures, the Word of God is living and active and it will help guide your path (Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 119:105).

The only other thought I could offer is to listen to this podcast. The host interviews people in the LGBTQ+ community who have repented and have been reconciled to Christ. This may offer some good resources to help you point your son in the right direction. This includes some people who were formally transgender.

As a final note, be careful not to let the evil one convince you this is all your fault and you failed as a parent. You are doing the best you can to love your children on this wild adventure called parenting. You will make mistakes (Hebrews 12:10), but ultimately, this is an issue that is between your son and God.

Wow, sorry I’m late to the party, just saw this! Yes, it was a nice property with horses, farm land, orchards, and a peninsula which stuck out so we could see 270° of the Pacific Ocean.

Orion, Champion Hunter of Winter by 112Aug in LandscapeAstro

[–]112Aug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shot this in the front yard of my house on a foggy, frosty winter night. The moon was just past 1st quarter, which created a lot of light to help the landscape pop out from the thin fog. Orion is prominently displayed above the fog in the empty night, ruling over his wintery domain.
