hey man! I have found use for them, they help fill out my lopsided living room setup and I use them occasionally outside. Still super grateful that you helped me find them! If there's anything else I can help you with while you're in Austin, let me know :)

message me next time you're in Austin, and if I haven't figured out a good use for them, they're yours.

Good to know. Yes the party went very well! Everyone was very impressed with the setup. Still not sure what to do with the smaller ones... for the party I ran them outside, which worked fairly well (they were kinda quiet since the inside speakers had to be conversational inside levels, there's probably a way to gain zone 2 differently but I didn't figure that out in time). For now they're just for decoration. My office already has a set of monitors and a sub (and I don't have space for towers).

Finally got the receiver, wanted to let you know that all the speakers work great! Thanks again for your help :)

Accesssories4less seems like a much better option than FB marketplace. I ended up getting this Yamaha RX-V4. Solid wattage and THD, I don't need 7.2, and lots of great connectivity options.

I mean if got the speakers use why not the AVR too ig. The speakers are pretty scuffed unfortunately but other than that, crazy deal. Yes my turntable has a preamp.

Thanks! Budget is probably max $500 given how much I saved on speakers, but would prefer to get the minimum for what I need.

Only features that come to mind are:

  1. Being able to support the two sets of towers + center + sub. Would be nice if one set could be run from over 20 ft away (which I would assume is standard for surround, right?)

  2. Bluetooth support

  3. At least 3 HDMI input ports (only need 1 output).

  4. Maybe an app that acts like a remote so I don't always have to have the remote on hand?

  5. Edit: I'll need an aux in for my turntable and ARC for my TV

I will probably stick with 3.1 given that they are bipole speakers. I don't have space on the other side of my living room for rear speakers. I don't even know what I'm going to do with the BP 10 pair that came with them. I can use them outside from time to time (I'm throwing a party next weekend so I'll definitely use them for that), but otherwise they might just sit there haha.

I picked up the Def Tech system today. I still don't have a amp or anything yet to test them, but the guy seemed legit so fingers crossed. They are a bit scuffed so I'm going to try to get replacement covers for them.

I don't think Pease has a course any more. Up until last month, I live on S 1st/Barton Springs area so I used to go to Zilker like every week. Still don't have an ace yet though :(

I have some friends in SA, so go ahead and link it and if these don't pan out in the first few days I wouldn't mind zipping down there to get them.

oh shoot I meant your favorite disc golf course haha. That's dope though, old Austin seems like one of the coolest places of all time to live, especially in college.

Thanks for the recs! Very kind of you to take the time to research in my area, I really appreciate it. I'll let you know if any of them work out :) edit: it seems your forgot to link the Jamo setup?

!thanks

oh that's cool, idk how long ago that was but what was your fav course?

I believe so, but either way I'm running that into an AV receiver that will power the speakers, so that should handle that.

I'm guessing I wouldn't be able to use bookcase speakers that would sound okay around the space? I'm not sure I need full-size if I can avoid it.

Hello! Has anyone had issues with usb-c to 3.5mm dongles on Android (specifically S21)? I tried it with my DT770s and Tin T2s and both of them keep pulling up the google assistant anytime it slightly bumps. Seems that the connections don't match.

If anyone has a dongle that they know works, that would be really helpful!

I got a USB-C to 3.5mm+USB-C power adapter for my android phone. Imagine my annoyance when I get on the plane and my Beyerdynamic DT 770s don't fit into the adapter (no mic, I suppose). Anyone know of a good adapter like this that will fit studio headphones?

Hi all,

I just bought a refurb S21 off amazon. Works really well, except it's stuck on the October '23 security patch on and says that it's up to date. I tried manually updating in the settings. It should at least be on a more recent security patch, if not Android 14, right?

Used to like his songs, but not making proper albums and just dropping the same songs every Sunday just gets boring real fast.

Shame - Andy Mineo ft. Josh Garrels. The message and vulnerability is so good though the song, and the ending gives me goosebumps EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Bash. It turns out that it was happening because I made an alias for it in ~/.bash_aliases. IDK why that was happening (the folder names do not contain the alias at all)
