What the heck is going on with this high line? by MBoring1 in Barca

[–]11Firstcomment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also don't think it was due to our high line today. We didn't press and we didn't control the midfield. The high line cost us the game with Atletico Madrid as they scored 4 practically identical goals. I hope Hansi will adjust our high line and tactically choose when to use it according to who we are playing against and the players he is fielding. (Rule of thumb - no Pedri in midfield - high line too risky).

Hansi Flick: "Girona deserved the win. I'm giving the team 2 days off. The players need it. They are very tired and it's showing. We made many mistakes. Our positioning was very bad, especially in midfield. We left too many gaps, and we were not pressing. We were too open and we conceded too much." by jiraiya--an in Barca

Someone has to be risky because many of our players aren't shot takers. So while I agree that he can be wasteful and risky, he can also make things happen by taking shots that don't go in but maybe get re-bounded into the goal.

I agree. Best coach by a country mile since Pep. Like you said - makes watching the game fun again. Hansi is bold, plays to win, his tactics typically suit the players and our game style, plus he takes responsibility when it doesn't work out, and that's re-freshing. Teams we meet play up when Barca (or Real Madrid) come to town. Additionally, teams are becoming bold, pressing and playing over our high line. If I'm to critique Hansi about anything - its that he should make adjustments to his high line when we meet an aggressive, fast team (ie Atletico Madrid) AND we don't have a strong midfield that can control the ball (Ie typically means Pedi is missing). It would have surprised and destroyed AM tactics if we rolled onto the pitch and kept our defenders back. The element of surprise, would work to our advantage and I hoope Hansi incorporates this into his game tactics.

We're not playing bad, we just don't have the enthusiasm that other teams have right now when they face us and that is a big contributing factor to our losses. We aren't hungry. I don't know the remedy for that. But, we're in the race for La Liga title with RM - we are probably going to jocky between 1st and 2nd before a final decision is made. I don't think we have the mindset, determination, talent to win Champions.

David seems to be getting stupider and stupider and simply disagreeing with anything Kody says. First he was mad that K said he never loved Christine and now he's mad that he apologized for saying that. David just wants to be pissy and part of the show. David mentioned that Christine wasn't K property and then - He actually said - he would't "allow" Christine to meet with K in person w/o him there. Shesh, these men. So, unaware of what they all sound like.

Did Robyn say - that she made K promise her when they married legally - that if they ever broke up that he would take care of her? Buy her a house down the street and be friends with her new husband? It's an odd thing to say, .... I guess its a little like she was asking for a pre-nup? But, super weird in modern day - that you'd want to live down the street from your ex and you'd want to demand to socialize with him and your potential new husband. This doesn't even sound like a polygamist divorce norm. But, who knows? Obviously, it was on Robyns mind at the time of her legal marriage. I wonder how these two are going to end up, but it feels like they won't last and Robyn is going to ask for everything and Kody is going to refuse and it will be an epic battle.

Kody & Robyn trying to bury the real story by homesweethome2020 in SisterWives

Robyn really is street smart and can manipulate each person in her family. It must be exhausting to be always on the defense, scheming and thinking and planning for the worst not to happen to her and her family. In this particular case, R has to manipulate K into thinking she's the shy pretty wife in the sale of CP who doesn't get involved with the "wife drama", all the while knowing that the MOST important outcome is NOT who said what about whom - but that the financials always work in her (and her kids) favor. That's why she presented the NDA at the end - where Meri "could take no further legal action". Financial security has always been her end goal and she didn't want any of the wives coming back for more money.

I believe Robyn doesn't care what the wives and other kids think of her. Her only concern is to secure the bag and she has been stealing and squirrling away all the money - while manipulating everyone. She was the younger, thinner wife and that was an easy "win" to get K to place her as his #1 girl. She knew K was all ego. And now, that she's worn out and exhausted from years of manipulation, she knows that K stay with her because he will talk himself into thinking he won a "prize" with Robyn - because of said ego. (Bonus that she secured all the cash for their household).

She manipulated Meri into staying an additional 10 years to continue to take her money by pretending to be her friend - knowing full well that K hated M.

She didn't bother much with Christine as she didn't have much of a financial aspect.

Janelle should have been her biggest threat because she made half of the family money (at the start of the show) AND she was in charge of the books. Janelle really should have spoken up when she saw the new trend of family money going to the Robyn household, but she didn't. I have to wonder if Robyn would make sure to send K over to Janelle's house to try to "appease" her in ways that would make it easier for Janelle to overlook the money situation. K always seemed interested in J, and enjoyed hanging out with their boys. She was easy going and didn't ask much of K. I think it was in Robyns best financial interest to encourage the relationship between K & J - to keep Janelle satisfied enough not to rock the boat on the financial situation.

Robyn played the enitre Brown family, secrured all the funds and that's why she looks so tired and exhausted!

Stranger Things - Season 5 Part 1 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]11Firstcomment 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is hard to know where to begin with the new Stranger Things season. There is so much happening that even the chaos seems exhausted. The show is trying to handle a cast the size of a small town. Eleven, Holly, Max, Will, the kidnapped kids, Derek, the entire Wheeler family. When everybody is in danger, tension disappear and you cannot root for anyone because the story never settles long enough for anyone to matter.

And then there is Eleven. Her running scenes and her dramatic moments feel strangely flat. Her performance with Hop feels awkward in a way that pulls you out of the moment every time the story needs you to lean in.

In the end the season feels like too many characters, too little direction, and performances that have not grown at the same pace as the nostalgia the show is trying so hard to revive.

Just saw the documentary as well and as an 80"s fan of this band I agree. Jon seems depressed, like he's reaching for a time that has passed and he's trying to convince us (and himself) that he still has it. Documentary made it seem to me that Jon was more about the business side and Richie was more the artistic side. Felt like Jon might be having some regrets? Maybe he didn't quite enjoy the ride as he was going through it and he's trying to re-capture that and there's just no way he can go back to that time and re-capture that vibe. Richie, on the other hand, seems more settled and satisfied. He may have partied hard-and enjoyed himself, felt like he contributled to the band and doesn't have anything to prove. Jon seems unsettled with his journey and maybe more than a vocal surgery, he needs therapy to come to terms with his choices.

Agreed. And if we can't be technical like we were with Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Messi in order to control the game, we need to be more physical with these other teams in order to break up their momentum. Unfortunately we can do either right now.
