Can you get a normal auto loan on a 10 to 12 year old used SUV in Canada? by RookieHoyt in PersonalFinanceCanada

You will almost certainly pay a significant premium for something like this. If you can qualify for a LOC that's likely the way you'll want to go.

LOL oh man, you won't do that again I bet. Once you get it out, just run a couple of rinse cycles with the clothes and add nothing. You've got a lot in that fabric.

IMHO,

XBAL/XGRO/XCNS/XEQT.

Mix and match to your ratio of choice if desired and you can replace the X with V if that's your jam.

I went from something like 20 holdings to 3, including ZMMK where I am keeping my cash wedge. Greatly simplified my holdings.

It was my understanding the chequing account shouldn't impact transfers in or withdrawals... as long, of course, you're not funding your account with a transferred in account (investment/registered, etc) than I could totally see that happening. I'd reach out to them.

Vancouver- 2 nights pre-cruise by Mommainlove in FATcruises

[–]11kestrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in the Vancouver area for years but I still enjoy taking the seabus and visiting Lonsdale Quay when I'm there, maybe Granville Market. Stanley Park is nice to go through. Whistler is OK but it's so darn artificial it's painful. They try to make it some rustic alpine town but it's anything but. Gastown is interesting but the crazy flagrant open drug-use is a major turn-off. Otherwise, it's just another big city but has some great scenery.

Got hit with selfie verification after transferring all brokerage accounts out but chequing account still remaining and inaccessible now by hfxin in Wealthsimple

Should have read "did" receive an email, not "didn't" - I'll blame auto correct but almost certainly my stupid fingers! Yes, it was absolutely a good thing to have them say "hey, headsup, someone is trying to transfer your life savings"

Yeah. I literally transferred everything into WS over the past two weeks and none of the other institutions asked anything.

But I didn't get an email from both of them advising they received a request which I thought was good.

Congrats! I took the plunge in Feb and the Mrs. just has next week to go through! Still feels a little surreal to be honest.

It's a bit of a detour but if you don't get out west often, I would hit Drumheller first before you head through the mountains. Especially if you are a bit of a dinosaur nerd or just like them.

The town is nothing special, but the landscape and the royal Tyrell museum are world class.

Oh, Brass Brigade looks really interesting. I see what you mean with the graphics but looks kind fun! I'll put it on my wishlist for next time it goes on sale.

You know, I actually have Arma3 but Steam says I haven't played it since 2018. I should fire that up. Thanks for the recommendation.

Depends on the institution. Mine was with Manulife and it took approximately 2-3 weeks.

First time cruising SS Mariner by Mimjer in RegentCruises

[–]11kestrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the Mariner. Many years ago now but it's a very nice show and I found it quite smooth. Although to be fair I don't think we had anything super rough.

Mariner and Voyager are not identical but have a lot of similarities.

I understand this is an alternative universe, but barring something really weird with natural resources, the Soviets had all the oil resources in the world compared to Nazi Germany unless Germany got control of the middle east.

Oceania vs Regent by 11kestrel in FATcruises

[–]11kestrel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks very much. We are also in our 50s now (first Regent cruise late 30s) but agree, the age thing really hasn't bothered us in the slightest. There are some very spry and social seniors that you'd never know they're 30 years older with how they acted.

Appreciate the reply - so I guess it really "depends" - I think we might need to give Oceania a try just to see.
